Doing or Ditching: Parent Dances?

We did have Mother & Son dance which was nice.

My father passed 2 years ago, so I'll dance with my ffil and uncle(s)

Ditching. My parents and his mother have passed. We aren't even having dancing.

My dad has hip problems so dancing wouldn’t be possible, nor are we close enough to want to do it. So no. We’re skipping this one

We are doing the daddy-daughter and mother-son dance. We actually left the decision up to the parents on this one because we figured no sense in forcing someone to do a tradition if they didn't want to! My FH's mother isn't a super spotlight person, but she surprised us by saying she wanted to. My dad was excited at the idea.

Doing! But I am mulling over possibly singing to my dad some parts of the song for our Father Daughter dance. My FH will dance with his mom.

Ditching, kind of. We still danced with our parents but didn't make it a show.

We're not having dancing, so its a ditch

No dances.. We might do them but we won't announce them. We want everyone to dance.

We are doing these - except it will be him & his mom, and me & my mom.

Doing this one! Although my dad and I have also talked about performing a song instead as I play the fiddle and he plays the banjo (among many other things)

Ditching it! I’m one of the last of my pals to get married and I didn’t want to force anybody to wear anything just for photos. My crew knows I love them and I know they’ll be there for me. It’s enough to know that they’ll be there.

Ditching, we're not dancing at all (day wedding and my FH doesn't feel comfortable about it)

Doing! My MIL deff wants to do one and my dad has something great planned!

I think we’re leaning towards on doing this. Love your ideas of combining the dance together!! Going to pitch this idea to my FH and see what he says!

We are going to keep this, as its very important to my dad, and my FH does not see his family often since they live so far away so I wanted to incorporate it for them

Ditching! We are ditching the entire dance, actually. It'll be a morning service, with everything all wrapped up by 4:00pm.

We'll be doing this tradition. FH doesn't like the spotlight but I know his mom really wants that special moment.

FH isn't too fond of dancing, actually both of us are nervous about it, but my Dad is SO looking forward to doing it, so I will do it for him

Ditching this one

We're doing it. I know it will make our parents happy, so we're doing it.

Ditching, my FH's mom isn't around and my dad isn't much of a dancer. We're having a wedding party dance after our first dance, where the wedding party can dance with their spouse (or each other). My parents can also join in and my FH's dad can dance with his girlfriend. After that, everyone can get on the dancefloor.

We are. My FH wasn't going to but his mom got upset about that so he said they can do one.

I don't think I'll be doing these. I hate dancing and especially when people are watching me lol

We had a small daytime wedding/reception so we didn't do the big dance party afterwards. If we *did* do dancing, we probably would have done a combined mother/son and father/daughter dance.
