Dogs included with the ceremony? Who picked them up after...?

Nadia & Steven, on February 13, 2020 at 10:48 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

Hi!

So I'm having my dog work as ring bearer and my bestfriends (MOH) dog as flower girl. Have you guys done something like this or will be doing something like this?

My main question is who do I have come pick them up afterwards?? All my friends and family will be at the wedding.

TIA

We're also having our dog in our wedding and at this point we're thinking we might ask my sister's BF to take her to her sleeping arrangements. We figure my sister will be busy with photos right after the ceremony and since her BF won't know anyone else outside the family, he might even be grateful to slip away for a bit.

I have heard of kids/pets (dogs) being involved and its wonderful to have them part of your ceremony. Is there anyone that does dog sitting and willing to get them after for the night as you arrange it that way. There may be someone in the wedding that may live close by and offer to keep them at their home until you leave the next day to get them from the home. It may be a hassle though some time of the evening may take out to go home and check on them returning back to the party.

I'll be having my dog as the ring bearer, and conveniently our ceremony is taking place in FH's parent's back yard so he's just going to be left there while we go to the reception. But if that weren't the case then I would've asked a co-worker that I'm comfortable enough with looking after my dog. But if he couldn't do it, then it would've been a friend of FH's mom that she's close to. If no one like that is available, then there's apps like Rover where you could ask a couple people if that's something they'd be willing to do for you.

Any coworkers that you are close to but aren't invited? Otherwise maybe you could look into getting a company like https://yourdogbutler.com/services/pet-taxi/?
