Do I really need...?

María, on December 26, 2016 at 08:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

Hi brides - to - be!

Planning a wedding is all about the budget and there will be many times when you're asking your self "Do I really need this? or that?", for example: save the date, guests gifts, ceremony program etc.

Have you asked this question? What do you think you need out of your wedding budget? Smiley sexy

Do I really need...?

We are budgeting the best we can but being our age this is a special moment we have waited for for a long time so my FH is going with the flow. We kept the costs down and our honeymoon would've been most of the cost so that's why we chose this venue. To us little things will be the addition to a perfect day. Our philosophy is it's our day and we are happy that those who join us will be as grateful as we are and enjoy themselves.

I know the nice Chivari chairs are anywhere from $6-$8 per chair depending on the vendor. So they can be quite costly! So the plastic or wood fold out ones must be cheaper than that. We were pretty lucky , the hall we booked had a ceremony space for a reasonable price and it included the chairs. So we lucked out. Good luck!

Haha no worries at all Melissa! Yeah I think we would just need a chair for his grandma. But the last wedding we went to was in an orthodox church and it was standing only and she was fine. That had a ton of people and everyone just created a semi circle and stood for almost an hour!
I don't have a specific location yet for the ceremony. If I do in the park, chairs likely aren't an option. But if I do the ceremony at brickworks near where I want my reception I'm sure they'd accommodate and do chairs. For a hefty price I'm sure though....

    I'm not having them!

Our ceremony will be under 15 minutes, so we are opting for standing only.

I know you are thinking park in Toronto too (I will write back I swear, Holidays were CRAZY!) So check and see- a lot of parks won't even allow chairs!

I had an exception made on our park permit for 2 folding charis for the 80+ year old grandmothers. I do expect they will both stand stubbornly beside their charis though.

I have found myself asking these type of questions and for something's I trimmed, but the must-haves we compared prices and choose what works with us and our budget.

I wish we could have had a wedding planner but it wasn't in the budget. We kept our ceremony decorations very minimal because we didn't need it. We also did a small cake rather than a big one. There probably were a few things that we didn't have to do like welcome bags and favors but I'm glad we were able to fit it in!
