I just have to share because I'm so pumped! My sister, who is a million times more crafty than I am, is going to make: a cascading bouquet for me, 3 hanging pomanders for the BMs, 3 boutonnieres for the groomsmen and one (bigger one) for the groom. She's making them out of real touch flowers, mainly cause the wedding is in Dominican Republic, and it's just way easier. I've attached the bouquet inspiration she's working with, and here's the rundown for everything:
"The cascade bouquet will be blue & white and have 6 white asiatic lilies, 8 hydrangeas, 10 pure white Calla lilies, 20 pure blue Calla lilies and 15 white-tipped (blue centre) Calla lilies, with some butterfly orchid (7) and artificial succulents (7) for the 'draping'. The Bridesmaid's Pomander bouquets will have 6 white Asiatic lilies, 4 hydrangeas, and 10 pure white Calla lilies. The poms will be small, I'm thinking the foam ball will be 3" - 4" diameter. Matt's boutonniere will be two white-tipped Calla lilies, while each of the three groomsmen will just have one white-tipped Calla. I will have some extra succulent to put some background on them."
Oh, but there's MORE! My birthday is next week and she was planning to just send some money for a gift (we live very far apart). I've told her to use that money for the flowers, and anything over and above, I'd cover. So, technically ALL of this is going to cost me less than $100!!!
I am SO grateful for her and her artistic skills!! She's saving me about $500, which is going to make a huge difference. Here's to all the talented DIYers out there!
