DIY or Buy? - Invitations

We've got the template saved on vistaprint for these. Just waiting for the venue to confirm the time closer to the date.

Designed my own using GIMP (free alternative to Photoshop) and getting them printed at Staples. Making my own matching RSVPs too. Details are still pending...lol

Got mine from Vista Print!

Bought from Optimal Print. I dont have time to DIY them though I'm making a lot of my own stuff.

Bought off vista print, was going to DIY but the time to make them I just didn't have.

My best friend and maid of honour designed them for us! 😍

We got my friend that did our save the dates do our invitations... We actually just decided tonight on which ones we're using!

Buy!! I'm obsessed with gorgeous stationery and ordered letterpress invitations with gold-edging!

DIY, again my bridesmaids is doing them!

I created my own design and everything, but we printed them through vistaprint.

We ordered ours from basicinvite.com and had my mom write them out for us.. I attempted to write my brother in laws last name and address.. it’s pretty sad 😂

A bit of both! I am prdering foil pressed inviations from minted and then i am making a laser cut gate fold card and sealing it all up with a wax seal and ribbion.

Same with save the dates; used a template on paperless post and just entered our information in.

I wish I was creative enough to diy, I’m buying a template off Etsy and using that lol! It’s cute and has the colours we want.

Half and half. Half of it I’m having made the other half I’m making myself.

The plan: Etsy template + personal phone call + emailed/website details.

The reality: Etsy template that’s Been printed and mailed.

Our friend runs an invitation/stationary business, so she did them for us.. so technically Professional! I'm absolutely in LOVE with ours. This is what our RSVP looks like.

Pro, but not over the top. We are going to Staples Print Centre.

Invitation Mock-Up

Their designs change over time, so we may need to pick a new one when we go to order in August, but I've ordered about 6 or 7 mock-ups and wasn't disappointed with any of them.

Ordering a template from Etsy and getting them printed somewhere

We will be doing these ourselves. We are both artsy fartsy and have good design programs so it will just be so much cheaper. At this point we have spent $30 on over 100 invites, thank you cards and invitation inserts. I get that people want something super fancy because it’s the first impression but I’m sure 90% of guests will through it out anyway!

Luckily I work at a print shop and have access to everything I need here!

I'm also big on making each invite very personalized to each person (not just address on the envelope) and I know that can get expensive doing elsewhere!

Pros will be taking care of this!

Professionals will be doing this for us lol.

We left this to professionals and ordered our invitations through Vista Print.

My FMIL made ours, she’s great with graphic design, she made our invites, envelopes and stamps. She’s also making our wine and wine labels she’s awesome!!

We ordered ours from Etsy. We thought about printing them ourselves, but we decided against it. We wanted the nice envelopes that came with them if we bought from the seller!

We will be ordering the supplies, then printing and assembling them ourselves. They will look something like this when done. The inside will have a pocket for the rsvp and info.
