Distanced Ceremony - Decorations

Alison, on July 22, 2020 at 15:46 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

For those of you that have gone ahead with small distanced ceremonies this year, can you share any pictures of how you decorated?? (Or inspiration pics for those that are planning to but haven’t gotten married yet!). We are having a distanced ceremony with about 30 people in August (just our parents and kids on the lawn with us and everyone else standing by their cars). I’m looking for inspiration for how to create an “aisle” and anything else that would make it look special!
TIA! 🙂

This is the set up we used this past weekend. The mason jars really defined the aisle. We also had the signing table just to the left of the arch you can see in the picture which we added candles and flower on the legs with the white table cloth over it. The decorations were minimal and the mason jars I had for center pieces which I will use again at our reception next year.

I know previously we had the same kind of inspiration photos and this is what we ended up making work for us. Hope it helps give you soon inspiration for your day!

Do you have a picture of the lawn you'll be using? If you post it, people may be able to come up with some practical ideas.

It will be on the grass, so I don't know if that would work, but thank you for the suggestion! There will only be 2 chairs on each side (for our parents), that's why I'm finding it tricky to make it flow! Our bridesmaids won't be standing with us this year (they'll stand next year for our postponed ceremony/reception) and I had made their bouquets out of artificial flowers. So I'm thinking I might try and incorporate them somehow for decorations.

If your aisle is on pavement, you can get one of those red carpet rollups at Party City. If you want a white aisle, you can rent them for fairly cheap from most wedding decorators. You can also decorate the sides of the chairs that are adjacent to the aisle with ribbon and flowers.
