Directed at Vietnamese Brides - Purchasing Bridesmaids dresses.

Thanks for the replies, I guess my fiance didn't care about further tradition and said it was dresses only we were paying for.

I am not sure how is in Vietnam... I'm Brazilian and I am getting married in Canada, In Brazil people do not wear matching dresses... to make it easy on everyone they pick a few options and I paid for the dresses, but hair, shoes and everything else they have to pay themselves.

His sisters do not speak English well and do not live in the same city as us. I wasn't too concerned before because it was just my friends in my bridal party, but now I will be adding my fiance's friends wife, who is Vietnamese, and I don't want to insult her by asking her to pay for something that is universally known to be covered. My fiance has been very sensitive with our engagement and all our wedding details because he is the only one in his family that will not be married to another Vietnamese.

Could you speak to any of his female relatives for their advice, or could you speak to the Bridesmaids themselves to see what they feel is appropriate and commonly done?
