Did you have any planning fights?

Joey, on February 21, 2019 at 08:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13

What was the hardest thing to agree on while planning your wedding? Were there any big arguments with your family, your partner, your wedding party, guests, or even your vendors? What issues caused planning fights?

We don't condone violence, but we can understand the sentiment! Did you have any planning fights? 1

I've had the most arguments with my mother. My family seems to be going into my wedding with a "whatever you want, we'll do", but then complain about my decisions. I've had enough of it tbh and am close to not sharing my wedding details with them anymore. My FH has been wonderful to plan a wedding with.

Lots of views from my husband then about why so much money being spent and how my family was being negative when they were just trying to give inputs or say what is meant to happen certain ways. He felt they were being negative as I had to hear from both sides (family and husband) feeling torn.

We've had a few arguments, but the only fight was about whether to have a wedding or not. I was (and still am) team city hall. He won that one, though. So now whenever there's an argument I just shrug and say "elope?" and suddenly the argument is over Smiley xd

No fights, but plenty of disagreements with family. Mostly about the guest list and the impact/backlash they'll be faced with if we don't invite x, y, z. So far, we've held our grounds, which has paid off!

Lots of disagreements with family. Everyone has their own vision and it seems like their visions always clash with ours.

ive learned to go with what we like and if people are upset, too bad.

No planning fights as yet, but definitely projection from one to the other as a result of wedding planning stress.

The hardest thing to agree on was the guest list.

Most of my fights have been with my mom! It's handy having someone in the same city as the wedding, but at the same time, she jumps the gun on some things. It feels like some days I don't feel like I'm planning the wedding which is frustrating. I don't even know how to describe it but I'm worried she's gonna talk to venue/vendors behind my back and say we want certain things. Sometimes she just stresses me out and I try to tell her to back off for certain things but I do get met with the "I'm paying for _ so I get a say!" line. I also used to be more passive with my parents and I've become more assertive with the wedding planning so it's changed our dynamic.

My partner and I have been mostly thinking the same things, in the beginning there was a problem between him and my mom where she wanted a fancier meal and he was totally fine with Subway catering.

We haven't fought over anything - we have had disagreements mostly with budget but otherwise we both agree on almost everything. He always says its my day so whatever I want we can have LOL love that Smiley smile

Hahah!! Ditto! I feel like most of my stress comes from over thinking and worrying about things that have always ended up being fine. Always self inflicted whoops....

There have been no fights yet, and hopefully none ever happen. The hardest thing is hounding my FH to get his side of the family's guest list done. I have sent out every Save The Date for my side of the family, but am missing 3 addresses from his side....just frustrating!

Nothing much yet! Gonna keep my fingers crossed though, FH and I had a little misunderstanding on colours. Which surprised me, because since the beginning he said he didnt care. But then he suddenly had an opinion once I bought the bridesmaids dresses, he didn’t understand what colour it really was, you tell this man navy/midnight he thinks blue in his primary colours lol.. I had to show him an example and even put it side by side with royal blue (which is what he thought it would be lol)
