Destination wedding and wedding events

Please read the long post Smiley smile Smiley smile

Has anyone had a destination wedding and also had a few events either before or after the wedding for people to attend? Did you personally let them know of the events and get them to RSVP to you directly or did you include it in your invitations for details and RSVP for the event? We aren't sending our invites until Spring of 2020.. but people are wanting to book travel now.

We are having a wine tour 2 days before our wedding and a farewell brunch the day after our wedding. I want to make sure people know of the optional events they can attend before booking their flights so they can coordinate that. Our wedding is next September and our family and friends need to travel 2 provinces and are looking to book as soon as September hits. What to do you suggest to do to let them know we also have other events listed so they can book flights accordingly?

As a guest receiving an invitation, getting the details card would help to know what to look forward to beforehand of the wedding day and after the wedding day to plan accordingly for travel plans and booking off time. Online invitation also being

Indian weddings are a lot of preparations and time to take beforehand of the wedding day events. Depending on how many events will be held before the wedding, it can be 2-3 events to plan as well.

Consider how you plan your events with the timings and locations. Transportation provided/not provided can be noted so they have an idea for them to attend and RSVP to confirm numbers for all events.

Our wedding in on the 31st in Canmore (and none of us are form there) and I just sent an email Monday to let them know about some of the other things we are doing (golf, hike, brunch) and asked them to email me back and let me know if they were interested. Lots of people appreciated that! Maybe try to get FH and family to help gather emails?

That’s great! I’d maybe email everyone then? Just a friendly, “Hey thought you’d want to know about some of these things” kinda email. I’d say it can be less formal because the stds already went out! I’m sure all of your guests would appreciate the info!

I think maybe doing a Save The Date with some of these details would help. Anytime that people need to travel, it's a good idea to send them some specific information as soon as possible so that they know what to expect, timelines, etc.
