Ours is a Canadian destination wedding - we and all but three guests are coming from Winnipeg (other three are in BC) and the wedding is in Canmore. Knowing that all of our guests need to travel, we sent out STDs in January (for August 31st wedding) to A list, sent evites in March with April deadline and B list invites sent shortly after with a June deadline. Early RSVP dates were so we can make other plans for the other days on the weekend (golfing for those that are interested, group hiking, brunch, etc.). I was worried it was all too early, but we have all but three RSVPs back - and the ones outstanding are for those that have to wait and see on a few things before they can commit. Smiley smile

I'm doing only one round of invites that are scheduled to go out 1st week in July, and come back by September 1st for our October 19 wedding. Most guest are in the same province, but Ontario is a large province and I'm up in Northern Ontario where mail from Southern Ontario takes almost a week to get here!

I also did Save the Dates in January to give guests a heads up 9 months ahead (I'd only send to A-list guests) so they can book travel/time off ahead of time. We sent hotel information too since the room block was set up at that point. This is something you could do in November/December for your September 2020 wedding and then I'd send the 1st round of invites 5 months out, RSVP deadline 3 1/2 months out, B list invites 3 months out, and that deadline 1 1/2 months out.

Although only some of my guests are coming from out of province I have at least 50 that will have to travel 4.5 hours just to get to the city but another 45 to our wedding destination.

We have just started sending out our invitations and have requested to have RSVP's by July 5th for our October 5th wedding. Then we are sending out the 2nd wave based off of no's immediately after and requesting RSVP's by September 5th which will put us at all RSVP's in at the 1 month to the wedding mark!

I know I'm giving lots of time for them to RSVP, especially given that they are to email/call/text me and not use snail mail - but that's because I have family that would have to plan in advance to afford it as well as make the long trek.
