Desert themed wedding

Yesenia, on August 4, 2018 at 02:25 Posted in DIY 0 12
Help! I need ideas of how to create my very unique wedding theme. I’ve searched and looking at the hundreds of ideas on Pinterest but I can’t find nothing for an indoor desert wedding decor.

I will I’ll be getting married in Vancouver, Canada. I met my fiancé in Phoenix, Arizona so we want to bring the desert to our ballroom.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thank in advance. Smiley smile

I think you can add solar garden lights to your wedding venue and plug them directly into the ground, without electricity or installation, which is very convenient. And it's so beautiful that it makes your wedding look romantic.

We are from Vancouver, we almost had our wedding in Phoenix! Haha... well... Scottsdale. It's our family vaca spot, we've gone every year for 9 years.

I think using those beautiful Arizona sunset colours for your palette would be aaaamazing. Use blushes, sunburnt oranges, pops of rich purples and burgundy reds.

Utilizing a little "cowboy" rustic chic is good too.... Wooden frames for signs, painted white with chalk paint, then buff it away in spots to look worn, like it's been sitting out in the Arizona heat.

Cactus centrepieces! Maybe individual cacti or succulents for a dual favour/escort card?

I would say just look up Arizona wedding ideas/looks, and bring them indoors! Bring everyone on vacation for the night!

I'm a visual person, so we made up a sample of our centrepiece and tried it out on a table of a similar size. It was great to see it all together.

I'm not able to help with ideas, but once you have a few, I suggest testing it out to see how it looks!

Great idea! If you don’t want to have big fake saguaros, try the clay potted ones as decor or centrepieces on your tables.

When I think desert I also think white flowery fabric.

    Good luck with your vision!

I’ve thought of the camel idea too but decided not to incorporate it since they are not found in Arizona.

I like the idea of sand filled vases.

Thank you so much for your ideas.

    Hi Leah,
Yes! Yes! Yes! I am including succulents and cactus’s in my centerpiece decor! But I don’t know what to do for decor throughout the ballroom. (I’ve thought of purchasing faux saguaros’s but then think it would look ridiculous) Follow me? I want to replace the traditional wedding trees - i.e cherry blossom trees with saguaros’s and cactus’s! What do you think?

I like the idea of incorporating a signature drink! Desert Rose! 👍

    Thank you! Smiley smile

Isabel, that’s such a lovely idea! Much more than romantic, there is so much meaning behind it. I would’ve never thought of that! I will consider it! Thank you.

Try decor that includes stones and succulents. Think of cacti 🌵, and other traditionally desert type plants (aloe?).

Maybe your signature drink could be a “Desert Rose” or something.

During the ceremony at a wedding I attended, they had two small vases of two different-colored sand. Each of them took a small vase and they poured in a larger one together. The MC explained that it represented the two people becoming one love and that the two, once mixed, become inseperable. The vase now sits as deco in their house. I thought the concept was very romatic.

Camels on tables as centerpieces can add that touch. Have some arabic peices that will give the wedding atmosphere theme.

Sand filled vases with small cactus works since arizona is a dry place with those plants. Some ideas to work with of they fit your thinking.
