Hey there,

I was wondering if some of you have an idea of how you were planning on spending your days before the wedding day. Did you take days off, spending time eith family, ect.
Our wedding day is on a Friday, I was thinking of taking maybe 2-3 days off before the wedding day. I know some people have specific timelines of what they plan on doing.
Would like to go to the spa with the FH.
Spend some time with my family from the USA. Honestly don't know how and where my mental state will be 3 days before the wedding haha

Hello! My FH and SIL have the week of the wedding off, as well as my MIL. We are planning on setting up and finishing any last minute details. I plan to spend time with my FH and our children. I plan to have my nails done and my hope is to have everything done ready to go on Wednesday/Thursday prior to our Saturday wedding, we have rehearsal dinner scheduled that Friday with our bridal party and close family ! But yes I plan to just soak up with week with my family!

I'll be taking two days off before my wedding. We are getting married on a Saturday but our wedding venue is about 1.5 hours away so we are going to the area on the Friday. I also work for my family's business so I have some flexibility with my schedule the week leading up to the wedding. I know that within the few days before the wedding I'll be making sure everything is packed - all our bags we need, things our toddler will need for the wedding weekend, decorations, etc. I'll be getting my nails done and a spray tan done most likely on the Wednesday evening or Thursday day. In total I'll be off work 10 days between preparing for the weeding & our honeymoon.

We are getting married on a Friday (July 1st). I have taken 2 weeks off before and a week after. My FH only gets 2 weeks off for the year and is in a unionized job so was only able to get time off in November so that is when our honeymoon will be. I am hoping to have a mini moon the weekend after the wedding.

I am making my own wedding cake and have other DIYs to finalize. I plan to have a spa day and nail day before the wedding. I have a lot of family coming out from out of province that I haven’t seen in years because of COVID, so I plan to spend some time with them.

My wedding is Friday August 12th and I took the week off before to prepare the last minute details, get nails/beauty stuff done. Also, my father and step mom are flying in from a different province so I want to show them around the city as they have never been to Calgary before.
We plan to go to Banff one day to explore and do some small hikes, tour around the town as well as take them for a nice dinner somewhere, meet and greet with some of my fiancés family.

Unfortunately, my fiancé has less vacation time then myself and wanted to save it so he is only taking the 2 days off before the wedding so we won't be doing much together.

Our wedding is on a Sunday (August 7th) and we're taking the week and a half off before the wedding and 3 weeks after the wedding. So pretty much the entire month of August! We're only doing this because my fiance and I both have 5 weeks and then some of vacation time. Since we're getting married in a different province we decided to stay out there for some time away and we've had to postpone twice because of covid we both agreed that we need a vacation!

I have a full week before and after wedding off. Though I am thinking about canceling the Sunday before and the Saturday after. (The way my schedule is it just doesn't make sense, plus I feel like if I take those days off my coworkers may suffer cause weekends are always short) I looking forward to getting last minute things done and having time to get hair (roots fixed lol) a few days before. I'll get my nails done and stuff too.

Oh wow sorry about the whole COVID-19 situation but glad you are ok! Yes I think having a few days off helps with the nerves and the last minute things that need to get done.

I'll give the post wedding persective here... So I actually ended up on medical leave for the two weeks before (education + covid, was in isolation until the day before our original date that had to be moved last minute... Stress of that coming around again and being type 1 diabetic... ).. anyway. My husband (also in education) managed to piece together a week off. I worked on last minute DIY, put together our hotel gift bags, we wrote our speech (do that earlier lol), and ultimately tried to take it easy. It was nice to have the time to decompress and sort through some things - with covid there were constant changes with seating etc). Two days before I went to get my nails done with my mom, sisters and MIL - that was lovely. The Friday we headed to the venue and hotel and set up and really got to enjoy the weekend! I don't think I needed two weeks (that was Covid related as that was the isolation at the time so just incase) but one week was so great to have.

Yes that is something I am looking forward too: spending time with our families. Especially from the USA. I get it! We haven't seen them since the pandemic!

I've taken a few days off before the wedding and my FH is taking the week off beforehand (lucky him and vacation days galore lol). That way I can kind of do last minute double-checks on things I need done and make sure everyone is on the same page as well as try to relax as much as I can - I just know my nerves will definitely be getting the best of me until I say "I do"! I know if I was working all the way up until the day before my wedding I would not be able to focus on work and just on wedding stuff and freaking out more than necessary!
