Day of Wedding Timeline — Help!!

Megen, on June 19, 2021 at 20:49 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 7
I need help creating a day timeline from the time I wake up until the time the ceremony starts!

I’m hoping to have a first look, and our ceremony starts at 3pm.

Remember to include some time for travel/traffic and time to eat. I made my day of schedule very detailed including what car were driving/where were parking, where every bridesmaid/groomsman will be at each point and what each person's role is at different times. It likely will not go exactly to plan but it helped me feel that I know what's going on. Also, when I wrote in that my MOH would pass me my vows and his ring I put the vow book and ring right into her pile so no piece will be missing.

The time the ceremony, timing should start way before then considering the time frame it will take for getting ready and wedding/family shots one time. You have other things planned out to get photographed. First looks if your taking that moment to do for yourselves. Here is an idea of what I did consider for our day given the ceremony time was 4:30pm 1:00 Photos for outfits/accessories/programs/rings/welcome package/invitation-stationary/ Getting ready with the families individually and wedding party starting with husband side 2:00 My side of the family, alone and wedding party getting ready shots 3:00 Greeting the Officiant ahead of time for payment and service printed for the wedding 4:00 Guests/family/photographer/videographer all at the ceremony site 4:15 Wedding party, flower kids and us waiting by the side of the cabin for the entrance in order 4:30 Processional starts and flower kids go to their seats and wedding party reaches altar as we make our way with our mothers. 5:00 Group photos and family photos of both sides and one together 5:30 Cocktail hour starts 6:00 Reception starts with Bollywood dance entrance 6:05 Mother/Sons dance 6:10 Cake cutting 6:15 Speeches by MOHs, BM (Best Man) and myself 7:00 Dinner served 7:15 Interrupted to take photos during the sunset as a couple Dinner resumes 8:00 Dancing starts onwards 12:00 First dance (late due to the DJ) and was supposed to be done as done for entering 1:00 Celebrations come to a stop and clean up/break down takes place for vendors and myself

A few things to keep in mind:

Getting ready: the amount of time will depend on how many bridesmaids you have and how extensive the hair and makeup will be
Food: don't forget to eat between events! Breakfast while you're getting ready, lunch before ceremony, snacking in between etc. Don't want to faint from hunger on your big day!
Ceremony Time: 3pm is safe but depending on when and how the sun hits you where you are, you might want to adjust. Be prepared for an anticipate starting 15 minutes late.
Photos: if you want golden hour photos, you will need to duck out of whatever event is taking place to take some before sunset
Travel: factor in travel time if you're hopping between different locations and venues
End time: this might be stipulated by your venue or by government restrictions
