Day of timeline

Meghan, on April 11, 2018 at 15:38 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4
I’m having a hard time coming up with my day of timeline.

Our ceremony is at 330pm and will be about 20 mins. After that we are going to head right to our photo location with our family and bridal pasty.
We’re going to have a cocktail hour starting at 530 then get guests to start making their way to their seats at about 630 so we can have our enterance at around 645 and dinner served at 7.
Then im not sure of how our evening should go. We’re doing speeches, cake cutting, shoe game, 1st dance and a late night snack.
Should the speeches be while people are eating, in between courses, or after everyone is done?
Anyone have any timeline suggestions for me?! Smiley smile

I'm also on board with doing speeches during dinner!

We're trying to split everything up as much as possible.

So guests sit, we get announced (our bridal party isn't doing an entrance.. just us). As soon as we are announced we go into our first dance. We then sit and my dad does a Speech/Toast. Then first course, then the Best Man does a speech, second course, Maid of Honour Speech, Main Course, Groom's mum does a speech, dessert and then we do our thank you speech!

At the end of that we do the father daughter dance then mother son dance and then the dance floor opens for everyone!

We aren't doing any games or having a cake though.

I would do speeches while everyone is eating so that you have their full attention. It’s what I’m doing.

Depends on your preference but you could have people doing speech's during dinner. I know ive been to weddings were people sit a lot during it and then get ancy near the end to move around. The way I was going to do it was we have the enterance, do the cake cut and first dance then. this way cake is cut and ready for when desert is ready. Then If you are doing courses do speeches in between each course. I really enjoyed that when attended a wedding. The shoe game you should do after dinner as an ice breaker and the first dance either after enterance or after the shoe game this way its before everyone gets dancing!
