Day-of Gift for the Groom/bride

Kay, on May 18, 2018 at 13:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 19

Hey folks! I'm just wondering what you might be getting your spouse for the day of the wedding. I have a few ideas on what I might get my FH, but I was curious what others are planning. Or if they are doing it at all! So tell me folks!

I thought about the boudoir, we are renovating a house and in need of a barbecue right now. His birthday and Father’s Day is around the corner so that’s what I believe I’m combining for him. But I might be doing a chain mail bracelet that’s custom.

I’ll get him a watch and write him a quick note.

I’m giving him a quotable journal in which I prefilled with the memories of us during the engagement phase and hope that we can continue to fill it with fun memories after we get married! Relatively low cost!

I have gifts for my FH, but he'll receive them when he comes home on vacation this summer- they are meant to be his bday/anniversary gifts.

Yes so true! Boudoir is even expensive enough but I know he’ll love it and I’ve always wanted to do it for my future husband!

Same here!!! Something a little sexy and sentimental! We're already spending enough on the wedding which is a gift enough!

We skipped buying gifts, and are writing each other letters instead.

The day itself has so much for the two of you to look forward to. We skipped buying gifts for each other as we family was the best thing to enjoy their time.

Yeah - he's getting this because I am able to do it for almost free - My friend is an amazing professional boudoir photographer here in Edmonton. She wanted a custom suit made - so I sewed her a suit, she is doing the shoot for me. I'll then use a groupon to get a photobook made. All in (not counting lingerie I need for the pictures!) it should be less than 50$!

I actually made a love book for my partner for Christmas this past year... He was floored by it, and gushed about it to all of his friends. hah.

I don't intend to spend a lot on any wedding day gifts because I agree with you, the wedding day is expensive enough! But, I'm a gift giver. haha. It is in my blood. Also, a tear-jerking card has to be given too.

We decided no gifts. The wedding day is expensive as it is, and we are mostly just excited to get married! (we're the gifts!)

That being said, I've done two little things.

    1. I've made a book about all the reasons I love him. I did it through lovebookonline.com.

It starts with the different reasons I love him, some of the big milestones in our life and then I've left the last page blank. I'm going to write my vows on the final page after the wedding.

    2. His grandfather passed away when we started dating and he was quite close to my FH. He worked for coca-cola for 50+years so I've gotten some personalized glass coke bottles, one says Mr C and the other says Mrs C. I'll have the bartender give these to us at the cocktail hour.

Yeahhhh, I know what you mean! My partner is pretty easy to buy for. If there is thought behind the gift, the gift doesn't really matter. I just want to make sure I am not way off base on my gift giving. haha.

He is a big nature/bear fan, so I thought those would fit the bill. He also complains about not having nice cuff links... So fingers crossed!

I am not getting my in-laws anything. His father passed away when my FH was just 16, and he is estranged from his mother. He will have his chosen family there, which is important. We are having just a small wedding so a lot of the formalities that way is not much of a concern. He may decide to get something for my parents, we honestly haven't discussed it yet. Smiley smile

I'm still looking. I want something special, but everything I look at doesn't feel special enough.

I'm getting my fiancé a boudoir photoshoot book made. I'm also going to be giving him something else - not sure what yet, though.
