Looking for some insight on how much couples have paid for their day of coordinator. We haven't fully committed to hiring one yet, but I feel like it would be best and less stress for us if we did. We are forgoing tradition and not having a bridal party, so this would be a good alternative for someone to oversee things. Just curious about cost.
I was looking to have a coordinator for the wedding as it was small as a thought. When researching the costs, they were around $1500 and more to which wouldn't fit the budget. As a result, we ended up having to do everything as being organized and working together for the venue setting being set ahead and adjusting a few things on the head table. I'm glad I saved that much more and with the help of my parents of some of the financial aspects. They also paid for the outfit and centerpieces/money box rentals as a gift.
We payed just over $1000 ($850 plus taxes to be exact) for ours, and I definitely recommend having one! She helped with so many little things that we hadn't planned for and we were way less stressed on the wedding day because we knew she was around in case anything went wrong.
In the GTA, you're looking at around $1000 average, but I've seen some "celebrity" planners ie. the ones who are also quoted in bridal magazines, winning awards, and getting media interviews etc can charge up to $2500 for day/month of coordination services.
By the way, most planners use day of/month of interchangeably (some claim they don't have day of services) because even a "day of" coordinator inevitably works more than a day.
We're paying around $900 for our day of corrdinator. She will be doing all of the set up of our decor for the ceremony and reception. She'll also be dealing with the vendors that are coming to our venue the afternoon of the wedding since we won't be there until about 30 minutes before. She's also be helping us with timing of walking down the aisle and also timing of walking into our reception. After that she is able to leave. We won't need her for tear down of our decor since we will need to be out of our venue by 1230am. You can definitely get the day of corrdinator to take everything down as well if you don't want to worry about that.
