Crazy Countdown!

We are down to double digits in our countdown and with that, we have started using athletes as our countdown! It started with 99 days to go my fiance said "we have Wayne Gretzky amount of days until our wedding" because he wore number 99 when he played hockey. So, we kind of continued that, using players from our favourite teams. My fiance watches more sports than I do so it has been easy for him so far to say a player. I had to go searching for a player who wears/wore number 95, which is today's countdown! I found one though; a former player from my favourite NHL team wore 95 over 10 years ago!

Anyone else doing something different for their countdown?

    Thanks haha our engagement party was last July so I think I’ve been using it since around the 400 day mark 🙈 lol but there were a lot of days or weeks I didn’t bother with it until now that we’re much closer

    Ahhhhh I love this! I always use Gretzky as a reference when something is 99 or a Lemieux, or a Crosby etc.

    We're at 137 (I honestly had to check) and I haven't been paying attention too much but I think under 100 is when it will feel real.

    I’ve just been using the count down on our wedding wire page. Now that we are at 18 days though we just have our regular wall caldendar starring at us as I “X” out each day that passes.
    Having a little trouble focusing on things like, work, now that we are so close, I just wish it was a weekend everyday so we could finish everything up.

    My maid of honour made me a cute little wooden thing to countdown with. She customized it with our colours (purple and green) and then for the MR and MRS part, had it wrapped in world map paper since our theme was travel. I loved using it and changed it everyday until the wedding day. We used it for the ring pictures the morning of and had the countdown at 0. Loved it!

    One of my bridesmaids gave me this at my engagement party so I’ve been using it along with the ww countdown (I haven’t updated it in a couple days haha) it just sits in my bedroom on my dresser. Some days I get a little busy and forget to.

    Trust me, when my countdown gets lower (It’s currently 600 days exactly) I will also be thrusting my phone into my fiancé’s face. Smiley laugh

    This made me giddy with how cute it was!

    We aren't doing that, but we're under the 100 day mark too. Actually I think we're 95 days as well.


    I have a countdown on my phone and I keep just thrusting my phone into his face. Very romantic.

    Not sure if we'll do something like that. We still have 14 months to go. Come the one year mark we will probably count down my the month, then probably just "99 days" at that mark then probably by weeks till the last month. I was thinking we might have "date night" if possible on the 1st of every month (since we get married on the 1st) at the one year mark.

    We're nowhere near our countdown (still have nearly 500 days to go) but I LOVE that you're using athletes!
