Covid-19 wedding May 1st, 2021

Jennifer, on January 10, 2021 at 15:42 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8
My fiancé and I were supposed to get married September 26th of last year. We postpone our wedding to May 1st this year and wondering what will happen. My vendor is patiently waiting just as I am but I’m wondering if restrictions will be a little eased by then? Anyone else having a wedding in May?

I honestly don't know what to do. I am July 2 postponed from August last year and I feel very stressed by certain members of the family. They are saying they don't feel comfortable coming and this includes some people in the wedding party. Honestly I don't think it is fair I think they should wear haz mats suits lol the thought of postponing again and trying to coordinate all my vendors again makes me very upset.

I'm April 30th. I'm trying to remain optimistic. I have multiple plans just in case, and now all i can do is wait. Hopefully by the end of February it will look better. I'm in Toronto and in the numbers keep going down I should be able to 30 percent of my rooms capacity. I believe orange you can only have 4 at a table and the yellow is 6. your aloud dancing but with restrictions. I'm not certain on what they would be. My ceremony is outside weather permitting.

I'm just tired of wedding planning and all the stress of covid. I just want to be done. We may reschule our reception to later in the year or even the same time 2022. But if it's 2022 I'm more inclined to cancel and lose our deposit.

We postponed from August 2020 to May 2020 and are planning for a 50-person wedding, outdoors (if May weather cooperates). Hopefully, by then restrictions are slightly lifted and we can see numbers similar to last summer.

Ahhh... we all feel for you Smiley sad We also postponed from Aug.2020 to OCT.2021... It's so hard to know as it's still too early. I'd see where we are by March-ish... Have you considered if you will postpone again?

Honestly I hope that we are not under lockdown still... and I'm thinking by May we may be back to the 50/100 ppl but that's wishful thinking as none of us really know what will happen.

I truly hope things start getting better soon and that everyone out there can have the wedding they dreamed of without having to make sacrifices or postpone Smiley sad

    Hey! We’re date twins!
My fiancé and I just made our call regarding this actually. We’re going to still get married this May, but with only our bridal party and parents. We’re planning on having the 10 of us go out to eat after at a restaurant here in Ottawa (if that’s a possibility) and I am currently trying to rent their balcony space to make it a little more private. We also contacted all our guests and vendors and moved our big reception to our first year anniversary in 2022. That way we can still have a big celebration, but don’t have to wait to start our lives together. Also, I get to wear the dress twice, so bonus ;P

We also postponed from September to April 24th, 2021. We have reduced our guest list to 50 (venue holds 120) and are hoping we can do a sit down dinner but don’t expect dancing. We are also looking to move our ceremony outside so people can spread out more. Our back up plan is to do a small Airbnb with just family and MOH + BM

Are you prepared to postpone if need be or do you want to get married regardless of the restrictions that are in place (capped guest list, restrictions on activities related to reception, etc)?

Keeping one step ahead is better and safer to know you're in the clear and to see what comes upon the time. Its hard enough to keep changing in this time as the situation seem unstable of restrictions. I hope everything works out for you two without any more obstacles in your path this year.
