Personally I would advise hiring a destination wedding planner if it was within your budget. it can be tough planning a wedding in a location you're not familiar with. A local planner will help bridge this gap, act as the middle man and direct you to the best vendors, venues and more in the area. They will also have a ton of other information on the area which may be helpful.

This hotel looks amazing!! but for sure i would check only 5 star hotels and then contact the hotel directly and ask them for wedding packages and pictures of previous weddings!

Web search is a great tool to find Destination Wedding resorts/hotels in Costa Rica with reviews and star ratings to know what's the best for your budget and travel package. Travel agency is another source to get the information in person if your not comfortable going on the internet.

A wedding coordinator is a good idea at the venue to work towards your style/décor/colour based on the location of your choice given your vision for the day. Any arrangements to make, they can do so when your not there and have ready when your reach. Food tasting and cake can be arranged for the chef to know what has to be done and invitation card colour and style if chosen. Set up for how many guests you may expect to have coming there.
