It depends on all the pieces that make up your party. If you're moving locations between ceremony and reception, if you have a strict timeline, if you're having things set up and taken down on the day of, if you have a lot of people involved including vendors and the wedding party, then having a coordinator can help you manage all that on the day of.
Your venue coordinator will not run your day for you. Their job is to make sure everything you need from them is provided to you. They will not ensure that external decorators are there to set up your space to your specifications or that you are walking down the aisle at a certain time etc.
