Contacting a venue

Paul, on October 18, 2019 at 00:32 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9
Hey guys!My partner and I have just started planning our wedding and figured that booking a venue is the probably best place to start. We reached out to a few places but only a couple have gotten back to us. Is this normal? It's been over a week from some places and no response. Maybe what I should be asking is whats the best way to contact a venue to book a showing and get the ball rolling?Anything helps,
Thanks!

I received e-mails from every single vendor I contacted, so in my opinion I would not go forward with any venue who did not respond to you within a reasonable amount of time. You will be paying these people huge sums of money, so this reflects how they will do business with you.

Venues depend on how long they get back to you based on their timing of availability. It will never be easy to get a response back by email. Its best to make calls to speak to them directly getting answers. This is normal to happen.

I started with emails also, and only a couple got back right away so a follow up phone call was needed.

I did everything else through email to have a paper trail after it was booked

No that is unacceptable. any vendor who didnt care to email me back within a reasonable time was cut. what happens after you book with them? theyll ignore you more? what if you have requests when your wedding is close? i would find other halls

Best results are by phone call but I do recommend sending emails first because some send a pricing list right away and you can either add them to the maybe list or take them out of the running right off the bat!

Plus, when you call - if they mention the email you can tell them that you actually did send them one a while ago and then they look like the fools!!! lol

Congratulations on your engagement. I actually had someone I'd given up on contact me about 2 months after I sent first e-mail. (Not a venue) calling would be your best bet for sure. I think one venue got back to me by the end of the day and a couple others took over a week.

Ditto to what Kelsie said. I was the same way at first too, just emailing and hoping for the best, however I got the best results when I called. Just have any questions ready when you call (like date you want, how much do they charge, etc.).

Congratulations on your engagement!! Welcome to the community!

Definitely a phone call. Emails can get lost or missed so a phone call is the most reliable way to go.
