Commitment Issues - And not to the Groom

Breanne, on April 17, 2018 at 15:24 Posted in Before the wedding 0 28

Question - what was the hardest thing for you to commit to (besides the groom)?

- The Venue

- Your Dress

- The Date

- Your Wedding Party

Honestly mine is my shoes. Sounds silly but I have almost 200 pairs of shoes and I am having the most ridiculous time finding shoes I am willing to commit to because I know that is the one thing I want to show off. I can't even decide on a colour - Royal Blue (colour of my bridesmaids) gold and ivory are all choices. All I know is they need to be high and sparkly but I can't seem to find the perfect ones. Seriously though, I didn't have this much trouble signing on the dotted line for our $25k venue! Everything else has been a no-brainer but this is driving me nuts...

What have you had issues officially saying yes to and why?

If you like those Jimmy choos, have you seen these less expensive Le Chateau shoes?

For the most part I've had a pretty easy time deciding on things. I think the hardest thing was my hair.

I THINK I liked what I picked, but its so hard when you see all those instagram models out there.

Oh my goodness that is an awful explanation/excuse from a health professional. If you still have a rash now after trying on your dress a while ago then it is safe to say you will be like this after your wedding as well. This would be especially unpleasant if you are going on your honeymoon straight after your wedding. I hope the doctor has an answer for you and the rash goes away soon.

Yeah, I’m going to see my dr again soon to try and get an appointment with a dermatologist and allergen specialist. The doctor I saw before told me “well it could be something in the dress but idk. I would just wear it on your wedding and it’s only a rash, it’s not like your going to die”... I mean that’s true but...

I definitely think I’ll try this. And if it doesn’t work work, I’ll just buy some Spanx or something to keep it from touching me. I love this dress too much to get a new one!

Oh my goodness! That sucks! Have you spoken to your doctor about it again? If reactine isn't working than it is likely not an allergic reaction or you need something stronger. You may want to see a dermatologist.

I know it won't be cheap but maybe it's worth having it drycleaned? I would call a couple of the local dry cleaners (always good to get a couple opinions) and see what they think. It may work and it may not but it would be cheaper than getting a new dress

Several days after trying it on I broke out in a red rash everywhere it touched my skin (mainly my stomach). I went to my dr and she said it was probably something in the dress. I feel like maybe someone tried it on that had some sort of skin infection/disease because I’ve been taking reactine and putting on a prescribed cream and it hasn’t gotten better, it’s actually spread!

What do you mean you are allergic to your dress?

I think for me it was the colour of the bridesmaid dresses. I had such a hard time picking a colour. I went through so many choices that my husband was fed up and said "I don't care what colour they are but just pick a colour!"

I’m having trouble committing to my dress. I’ve already bought it, but it seems as though I’m allergic to it! People keep telling me to buy a new one but the one I bought is Ann old Alfred Angelo so I’m scared I won’t be able to find something like it Smiley sad I want to just wear it and if I get a rash the day after my wedding, oh well!

Timeline of the day! I keep stressing that oh if I do it at this time it will make for a very long day, but if I do this at this time it won't be enough time and I would be to rushed. Worked with my officiant and photographers and they reassured me it will be ok for the timeline I have chosen.

Hmm...I think the hardest was my jewellery! Mostly because I didn’t want to spend a lot for something I would probably only wear once. But, after advice from this community, I decided on just earrings and then it took awhile to find a pair I liked!

My Dress!! I was so nervous to make the decision. I went to a bunch of stores (which probably confused me further) but I was searching for a dress that gave me the “feeling” everyone talks about.
That, and I was nervous about choosing something that I wouldn’t regret.
Safe to say after many stores and many try ons... I’m very happy with what I chose !

My engagement ring. My FH let me pick out my own and it was awful making the choice of what piece of jewellery I’d be wearing for the rest of my life.

The dress! I get nauseous thinking about dress shopping and either not finding anything OR finding too many and not being able to decide.

Royal blue wedding shoes sounds amazing! I think it'd also work better showing off such a color than white / ivory or anything else similar to the Color of your dress. It would also work super nice in your pictures to have that pop!

I think, at least it has till now, my hardest thing is to commit to picking bridesmaids. I know two girls I would like in it, whom I both asked and both agreed and especially one of the two is crazy excited about it (which I'm really happy about btw!)
I want to ask a third girl but I'm not sure if I should. Most of my guests are coming over from Europe and she is too. She's also got a very young son along and her husband. They're combing their trip with their wedding anniversary, they got a lot of stuff going on and if it would actually be too much for her she'd probably say yes anyways because she would feel guilty to say no / would want to do it for me (I could really totally understand and wouldn't mind if she won't be able to but I know if she would want to say no she wouldn't). Apart from that her English isn't too good and Im scares she'd feel bad about that and some other worries (mainly about me picking a her above a mutual friend of ours / jealousy kinda thing)
Another girl I wanted to ask if I wouldn't ask the girl I just mentioned just found out she can't make it to the wedding cause her work won't give her time off. And then my third option would be my cousin but I know she on the other hand isn't really into the whole girly girly thing and not sure if she'd like it or if she can actually make it to our wedding.
I know the previously mentioned mutual friend would loveeeee to be in the wedding party and would probably be upset that she isn't which also sorta makes me consider her. We used to be the best of friends but a lot has changed and it's just different now in my eyes. I don't know. I find this part very hard ><

I’ve had a few so far, I think there’s just so much pressure and it really makes it difficult to say yes sometimes! I’ve had commitment issues with my jewelry, my hair style, my garter and I think have I’ll hard time with perfume as well lol. At least they’re just little things but I just want everything to be perfect!!

The photographer... I loooove wedding photos... but I am truly shocked with the prices of a wedding photographer. We are trying to find the perfect balance of cost and quality, and I think we are almost ready to lock it down... thank goodness. I just can't justify 3 months+ rent on pictures. That's not even including videography. (Which we are opting not to do). I know people say those are your photos for forever... but I literally know no one who looks at there wedding photos except to show family after the wedding when you get them, maybe when distant relatives come to town, or when your kids start looking at them decades later... and then they are so dated anyways. Smiley xd

Mine was the jewelry. I'm not usually one to wear any, and I never had the opportunity to try my dress on with any until the day before, so I purchased/borrowed a bunch of different pieces in hopes I would like any of them. I also couldn't decide between pearls and jewels, so it was something I couldn't commit to for sure.

The dress! I liked this one and showed a few people, very mixed reviews. It might have been different if they were there or not sure if they are old school and don't like its not white. its a nude color. I am looking still buts one of the harder choices along with the shoes lol
