Colours for two sets of bridesmaids?? 1
Colours for two sets of bridesmaids?? 2
Me and my fiancé, both female, have 5 bridesmaids each. Both of us are not good with colour matching. Example in the greens in the colour scheme not matching the suit my fiancé wants to wear. Lol Neither of us wants to wear a dress or traditional white and black so on top of the needing to pick bridesmaid colours we need to find some that don’t clash with us. I attached the colours we want to have in our wedding. I drew at the bottom some ideas for the bridesmaids next to kind of what we plan to wear but I’m also aware that the left side might not look good on some skin tones. So I’m looking for some suggestions. I’m kind of wanting to stay away from the rust because my bestfriend is having us in rust for her wedding this year. The attached photo is what my fiancé wants to wear the forest green suit with a see through black blouse under, I’ll probably have matching pants and a white shirt with rust suspenders and a bow tie. I thought having sage on my side would kind of counter her suit but I don’t know. Help please! Lol

Love the colourful attire idea for you and your fiancé!

My only thought when looking at your mock up is that your fiancé’s bridesmaids are the only ones without any green. Perhaps you could tie in a complimentary sash from the bridesmaids’ colour on your side, and vice versa? Or your suspenders could match your fiancé’s bridesmaids? Just to tie them into the overall picture a little more?

My only thought about the colour scheme is the sage on your side might make them look like they belong on her side.

Also, are your bridesmaids wearing dresses, top and skirt, top and pants, or blazer and pants like your fiancee? Depending on which you choose, I feel like you'll have different options to play around with.

Have you gone to any shops to look at dresses?? I find it make a big difference seeing colors in person than online. There are all kinds of green shades out there. And if you happen to have a swatch of the green suit, you could even bring that in as well. I think it could look real nice if they were all complimentary colors of green, like sage, olive, forest green, light green, ect.

However, I did a quick search to see what other weddings have done green as the main color and here are some suggestions:

I agree! Champagne is something we’re definitely going to look into and I have never heard of taupe before but we just looked that up and we’re definitely going to explore that too!

Oh! I didn’t even think about champagne. I think that’s more our speed than the pinks. Thank you so much for your suggestion.

I think sage would compliment very well! I like Brittany's suggestion of champagne! I also think a taupe could be a nice option!

I think your idea of doing a sage or light green would look really nice. But if you want something a little different than you and your fiancé; I would suggest peach or even a mauve/dusty rose. If you're not a fan of pink tones - possibly a champagne color instead?
