Cocktail wedding

Jodi, on February 27, 2018 at 09:44 Posted in Wedding reception 0 4

Hi Ladies

we are getting married in September! we found a great venue with great vendors for a great cost! however there is no alcohaul at the venue. It is a short ceremony with a small reception to follow with lemonade and catering. The guests will be there between one and four, the wedding is about 45 mins out of town. has anyone done something like this before? did your guests have a good time? did you have an after party? if so - how did you do it?

as we all know weddings are crazy expensive. we are contemplating an after party of sorts but arnt really sure what to do.

I haven't been to one myself, but the event coordinator at our venue was telling us about a couple last summer that did it there. They had lots of children at their wedding and didn't want it to be a late evening for them. It sounded like it went well and worked for them.

You don't need to have an after party but you could. We are doing a brunch the next morning for our out of town guests to be able to spend a bit more time with them while they are here. So, you could do something similar with guests; reserve some tables at a local restaurant or even invite people back to someone's house.

I think that’s a great idea to do a cute afternoon thing! Could you do an after party at a nearby restaurant just for drinks and tapas?
