Clutch ideas?

Ludvis, on April 23, 2018 at 15:08 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 15
Where did you go for buying a clutch or purse for day of?
myself and the bride both use large bags and we are in search of something cheap and small to use.
Hers needs enough room for a small wallet and to carry any necessary envelopes for payment to vendors.
I need something to carry small wallet for id and license and my phone so it doesn’t ruin pictures or anything Smiley smile

Oh yeah I don’t want something fancy. Just something simple and small to hold envelops and like license and phone during like photos. I’m designated contact person so if there’s anything during photos I need the iPhone for that purpose

RIGHT?! I can't tell you how many times I've had to carry his wallet, glasses case, BEARD BRUSH, and cigarettes. Time for payback haha.

I know that there are some super flat clutches, that are about the size of a sheet of paper or smaller. I have seen them in Lululemon. If it's just to carry think, I think it doesn't need to be super fancy but more functional. The flat design will allow you have all the papers, phone that you need and not be bulky to carry.

Unfortunately I'm drawing a blank as to where I've seen them, but I do know they exist.

That’s great that works for you. But all of the vendors want payment day of and we don’t have a locked bridal suite etc. We have to travel for photos and then everything! Just trying to figure out what’s best since the guys don’t have jackets. The clutch will not be used for ceremony at all its all for during transportation to photos or payments. We have no idea when certain payments are asked for on day of since no vendor has specifically told yet but we know a lot want on day of

My dress actually has pockets! so I hadn't actually thought of getting a clutch. I won't have my phone on me - everyone I talk to will be there that night and I don't want phone pictures.

I think we'll plan to pay for everything prior to the ceremony so no need for envelopes I don't think. As for ID and all that fun stuff, I think I'll just leave it in the safe in my bridal room. I don't want to worry about having to remember where the clutch is.

    NO!

I would've thought the same thing! haha

Besides, he uses my purse every other day of the year, so it's his turn to return the favour.

I bought mine from 6pm.com. Check out the website. There a lot of cheaper purses and clutches on there!

I would say go with Brittany's suggestion of a very slim wallet to hold the cash and your ID for the day-of, you don't want a bulky pocket in your photos. For the clutch, looking at a few stores for small clutches. Usually Claire's or Ardene's have good options. No need to go expensive, unless either of you plan to use them again.

Otherwise, have the bride put everything in a purse with a long strap, so that while you are taking photos, you can ask someone to hold it, and then the rest of the night, it can be strung across one of your chairs.

If anyone knew aplvthe people in party or family you’d understand why it’s best we handle the money. It’s a lot of money we have du that day so it’s best no one else take care of it. We have hair and make up, photographer etc. There’s no room to lock stuff up and to be honest, I’m the driver and I’m charge of all paper work and everything so I need it.

I had one tote bag that contained things I needed for the day such as a change of shoes, extra bobby pins, a small can of hairspray and my ID (we had to walk through the casino). I gave it to my maid of honour and she carried it for me. We gave the envelopes to our best man to hand out any cash and tips throughout the night, and they all fit neatly into his coat pocket, so there was no need for a bag for that.

I second Brittany's comment. Usually the couple aren't the ones worrying about chasing down all of their vendors on the day of to pay them. There should be a designated person with the cheques.

Most of my vendors actually require the full payment the week of the wedding, or they have your credit card number that they will run for final payment. This way its all taken care of and the couple can enjoy their day.

As a bridesmaid, I just used a clutch I already had (my go-to "wedding guest clutch") from Aldo for lipstick and stuff, but I only had it for the reception.

In my opinion, neither of you should have bags/wallets etc... Usually your best man or trusted family member should be responsible for paying vendors at the venue, and her bridesmaids should have a bag somewhere for her wedding day essentials. Check if your venue has a bridal room, where they usually let you lock important items up for the duration of your day.

Otherwise, for you, I'd just get a very sleek/thin one fold wallet, just enough for ID and a credit or debit card... and she can find very nice, "fancy" clutches/purses at many accessory stores (often great selection in shoe stores as well).

But I really strongly suggest not having to have things on you... bags/bulges from wallets are not good in any photos... and really you should be 100% focused on your day, nothing else.
