Choosing the right Venue

Darren, on August 9, 2019 at 20:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
Hi guys I’m hoping that I can get the inside scoop on how best to choose a venue that won’t give us heart palpitations when we see the initial quote. We’re looking to have our ceremony & reception at the same venue which would be easier, but most vendors seem to have time restrictions and we prefer an afternoon wedding starting at 1pm or 2pm, that way our family & guests can party the night away. Make a rough guest list first and see how many people you have. If you want to cut down costs of a venue do your wedding off season or on a Friday or Sunday those are generally half price. You can also get a hall that does the ceremony on site. My gf is doing her ceremony at 3 pm and then cocktail hour starts at 5 and then her wedding activities start at 6pm

So happy to say that our venue is confirmed and thankfully it also covers our food & beverage. Anybody hunting for a venue be sure to check out Cedarbrae Golf Club Scarborough.

Look at less conventional places that still host festivals and events - casinos, large bars that do dance nights, or maybe see if you can book a restaurant. I found, at least in my area, they don't triple the price on everything because the word 'wedding' is involved and they are generally open decently late.

My FH and I went with the local Casino's event room. They always are hosting shows for musical guests and business events. Apparently, they did the odd wedding too. The room and their outdoor area both for the full day was only $500 including all chairs and tables (which is there general event pricing). The room already has a good sound system installed too due to the events that are done there regularly.

We're doing exactly what you're looking to do. We're getting married at 2 pm at Terrace on the Green, and there are no time restrictions except for at the very end of the night. The ceremony and reception are at the same place, and our venue only does one wedding per day.

The venue that you like and find best to your siuting will be the answer. The budget will be major considering food and booze. Inquire and compare pricing acccordingly to work to the guest list too. SOCAN fee is something. you should ask about since they may charge you along with gratuity.
