Chinese Reception - Djs

Lynne, on February 21, 2022 at 17:14 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

Hey all! I would like some input about hiring a DJ or not.

We're doing 2 weddings so this year we will be having a Chinese wedding with our families and relatives. Tea ceremonies will be held at our parents' respectable homes followed by reception at a restaurant later in the evening.

This is a VERY simple reception. No dance floors and one of our groomsmen will be the MC for the night. The restaurant does have speakers and systems for music and mic. We're wondering if we need to hire a DJ at all since it's going to be a simple night. We were thinking of just playing music off a spotify playlist throughout the night and one of our wedding party will go check on the PA system etc.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Depends on how you see your budget and if you want to have one.
We created playlist and had a family member that played music for us. He was very interested and it was a great time. Good music = good vibes. It’s not only about the DJ, to me. Hahaah

Chinese DJ in Canada - Top Chinese DJshttps://www.chinesedjs.net/canada

Try this link and fill out the information to see if it helps. I just came across it. I was going to recommend a DJ who may know or have some Chinese songs unless you do provide a playlist or songs they can download.

A Chinese reception (assuming this is at a restaurant with the ten courses) pretty much never requires a DJ, especially if you're not planning to dance. Are you still having a bridal party entrance? If so, that might be the only time you need to ask someone outside of the bridal party to monitor the music.

If you're really not wanting to have a DJ, you don't have to! If you wanna make a playlist and play it off a Bluetooth speaker, go for it! I know of a lot of couples are forgoing DJ's because of the fact that their receptions are very low key! Just remember, it's your wedding and you and your fiance do whatever feels right for the two of you!
