Also if you DIY, the best tip i would have is START EARLY! lol when my mother got remarried she wanted to DIY everything which is awesome to save money but a lot of work. She kept saying we have lots of time, until we didn't and had to rush to finish a lot of things. Because of that reason a lot of the bouquets where coming apart the day of because we had just rushed way too much. So my wedding is only fall 2019 but i'm starting already to do smaller things when i have the time, so then i will have less stress leading up to the big day!

Something we saved a lot on was DIY our save the dates but putting our wedding website on the back of them so we did not have to send any invitations or RSVP letters. It saved a lot of time, money on postage, and money on invites, envelopes, RVSP, etc.

Also we are not having specific seating, we will be putting a reserved for family sign on the two front tables but the rest is a free for all (which i find people prefer i hated being stuffed somewhere random at a wedding). This saves on the seating chart and all the place setting, with names on them, table numbers, etc.

Im really crafty so i will/or have made:

    - the cake topper

    - Centerpeices

    - Bouquests

    - Boutenirs

    - Corsages

    - Arch

    - Signs (so many signs lol)

    - Photo booth props

We did DIY for the following things for our wedding:
    Centerpieces
    Save the dates
    Mason jar lanterns
    Seating chart
    Favours
Set up and take down (not really DIY but did cut costs)
You could also make your own floral arrangements, cake and hair and makeup.

You could DIY your own makeup and hair, do your own nails versus getting them done professionally, make your own wedding favours, do your own centrepieces, etc.

We've done something similar but for our table numbers. Took little Log pieces, put slits in them and then I spray painted them silver. We are not really doing the rustic theme but its made them look more vintage!

    Centrepieces

    Table numbers

    Signs

Bouquets (using real flowers from Costco or another store or silk flowers--although, decent silk flowers are quite pricey but there is the option of selling them on buy and sells or varagesale after)

    Guest book

    Invitations

If you're wanting to get really creative, an arch for the ceremony or backdrop for the reception (but, sometimes it's just as cheap to rent these than it would be to make them)

You could make your own centrepieces and place card holders ? We are making our place card holders out of tree stumps!
