Changing dates

Margaret, on May 27, 2021 at 02:53 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
Is anyone else thinking of changing their wedding date. Initially we were planning on doing a traditional ceremony in July with just our family, because of the restrictions and then have our wedding next year. We would invite everyone to thewedding. However, it looks like things might return to normal by fall this year and now I'm confuse. Should we move our wedding to the fall and do both ceremonies or just keep our original plan. I don't know what to do. I'm tired of having to change dates again. I just want to be married! Sorry, I needed a place to rant 😅

Keeping your small wedding is a great option if there are no changes for numbers increasing anytime soon. Have a second ceremony with family member or friend acting as the Officiant which can work. Its a difficult reasoning to expect what the changes may take place and when. You don't want to lose your date feeling it may be 2 years in from now.

Another disappointment would hurt so much. Thanks, you brought up a good point. I will keep that in mind

Yeah, I can also see something similar happening. Too many people in the same space isn't the best idea. I'm sure not everyone will get the vaccine or might know if they have the virus.

My fiance and I pushed our entire wedding to next summer just for the fact that we don't want to have "two weddings". We want to have our wedding to be "normal" as much as possible and to only do it once

I personally am very skeptical of stage 3 in Alberta. I think Kenny only wants to be fully open in July so stampede can go ahead and I worry we will be in another lockdown after stampede. But I reallllyyyy hope I am wrong!

I doubt things would be "normal" in the fall (I have a feeling masks will still be a thing) but they would have some semblance of it compared to what we're at right now.

If you're already set on having a postponed reception next year, and things are booked, I'd just keep it at that. Last thing you want is to be disappointed again in case things don't work out the way you want it to this fall.
