Champagne Dress and Chuck Taylors. Help!

Kayla, on May 28, 2018 at 12:41 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 16
G'day ladies.

I have a fashion dilemma and I've searched high and low with no luck... So I've come to you for help. It's my first time posting, so be gentle Smiley heart

My wedding is late October, my colours are grey, yellow, and dusty blue. My dress is ivory lacy overlay on top and champagne tulle skirt on bottom. My girls are wearing dark grey dresses with light grey Converse, and the men are going opposite with light grey suits and dark grey converse with yellow ties/bowties.
That's all well and good... The problem I'm having is that Hubbs and I both want to wear Chucks as well, and we were thinking yellow, since that's his favourite colour and they'd really stand out. Plus, he wants to be able to buy shoes he'd likely wear again.
But with my dress being champagne... How terrible will that look together? I'm no good with colour matching, but my mom says it will look awful. I can't get too much help from Hubbs either because he's not seeing the dress until day of so he doesn't even know the colour I'm wearing!

Please help me find a solution!

100% agree with this! Unless you love the idea of yellow shoes with your wedding dress, consider something else because I don't think it will do justice to your dress.

Honestly, don’t go with the yellow. The colours on the dress would just clash really bad. Your hubby to be could still do the yellow, you don’t need to match, and you could got for a nice white/ivory pair or even a dusty blue would look good!

I agree with most on here that the yellow will not look good with your dress.

I think you should opt for a dusty blue option or ivory/white. You could add yellow laces to match your FH's shoes.

I agree. I wouldn't wear the yellow either. It will look very off with the colour of your dress.

I love love the idea of you all being in converse. But i wouldn't do the yellow. Rock white or ivory or get some rhinestone ones.
And hubby can buy what he wants

Personally I don’t think the yellow will match well with your dress, sorry! However there are so many options for converse ! I’m obsessed with them lol
they have ones with rhinestones all over them which would be kinda cool! You could also do a navy or something. It would match the grey and yellow, and still be a little different.. only thing is, they would be pretty dark. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for.
    Good luck!

Get help from your bridesmaids and mom for colour matching. Your outfit needs to be cohesive and pretty. Thankfully chucks come in all sorts of styles.

You already got your wedding party attire coordinated so you're almost there.

I had an "eek" moment picturing a bride in yellow converse. You and your hubby don't need to match! I think blue, or finding those ivory ones, would be perfect for you. Then you and your hubby both stand out over the bridal party, but you don't clash with your dress.

Also, your dress is probably long enough to cover your shoes where it wouldn't be super obvious, but I think blue or ivory would still be more complimentary to the gown.

I just bought converse for my wedding. My dress is a blush/champagne colour with tulle and lace . If you are worried about the yellow , you can get these ones that are an ivory colour! I found the rose gold accents matched the colour and the ribbons and ivory colour gave it a bridal look ! I actually ended up going with a low cut pair instead and returned these high tops , they are similar but with normal sized eyelets ! Champagne Dress and Chuck Taylors. I like the idea of the dusty blue converse shoes if that is an option! Otherwise I'm on the fence about the yellow ones. On one hand - wear what you want and who cares. On the other hand, you want things to look good because you will have pictures of this for years to come. Either way it's your day and nobody is allowed to question your choice (or at least that is what I'm telling people Smiley tongue haha)

I would go with white or off-white, whatever matches the top of your dress. You could add a cute hair flower or pendant to the shoes as well to make them stand out.

I'm wearing all white converse with my dress.. my girls will be wearing grey as well, and the boys will all be wearing all black! I dont think you need to match with your hubby, I'd choose something that would go with your dress. No matter what, you all get converse and you'll all get to wear them again after the wedding so it will still be very special Smiley smile

I like the idea of him wearing yellow, and you wearing a blue since you're doing a dusty blue.

It can also be your something blue! plus it would be really complimentary to your ivory dress and his shoes.
