It depends on the general age and sentimentality of the group. I know my family and friends will appreciate it; whatever you decide to focus on, even in the little details, is up to you and those previous wedding budget dollars!!!

It’s more of want and not a need, there are nice to look at but most of the time there are just discarded , so why waste you’re money only you as couple will keep it for memories

Such a waste of money and paper. People are fine not knowing what is coming next. It's a wedding not a travel itinerary.

Definitely not. Seems like a waste of money and energy, and paper!

Not a must IMO unless the wedding involves culturally or religious things a lot of guests wouldn't know about.
We are doing a sign that has a timeline of the day, but that's about as close as we are getting to programs.

This wasn't a must for us. We decided to get a board with our reception order of events instead because so many people go outside to cool off or grab drinks that if they wanted to see our first dance, they know what time it is going to start.

I enjoy looking at them when others have them but we decided they were not a must for us

I think it's more of a nice-to than a must-do. We're not doing any programs or menus to avoid wasting paper (and to save money)

I won't be doing programs. The officiant can make any announcements. Once the ceremony is done our guests will walk down a hall to reception room. We kept it easy I think.

I am inclined to have our guest comfortably as possible.

Some people will like to have this for one reason or another.

So I will have a short detailed program.

Hard no. Ours will be super straightforward and all that paper getting tossed after being looked at once makes me die inside.

Since ours isn’t religious I chose to forgo this and just put more money towards the actual invites and the menus

Felt as a must do so that guests and family stayed behind for pictures and saw that on the program. Plus it was a fan if needed to use if the temperature was hot.

Not a must at all! We are just doing a sign at the entrance and then our wedding website.

Not a must for me, though I do want to make a wood pallet sign with the day schedule painted on.

We did a sign with a timeline that we had at the ceremony and reception spots. Individual programs definitely aren't a must have! Plus most guests leave them behind anyways.

This is not needed, as we have a very small wedding party and the ceremony will be short and sweet!

No I don't think so, we're going to do a sign instead.

I can definitely see the need for them in longer religious ceremonies, but ours will be short and straightforward

We’re skipping these. Our ceremony is short and often people just throw them out afterwards anyways

We didn’t do them. Our officiant explained everything out to the guests that we were doing.

Total waste of paper! We will have one large sign with the wedding party listed on it, and our venue makes food menus with dinner programs for us included with the cost of food, so we won't have to do anything! But even if we didn't have a venue doing that, I wouldn't be wasting money on it!

Waste of paper! Our ceremony will be super short and we have no wedding party to "introduce" to guests so why bother.

NOPE! Our ceremony was like 15 minutes long including the walks so no need for the waste!

    Waste of money.

I have seen so many left behind after people put some serious work into them.

Not necessary - just extra paper that gets tossed afterwards.
