Centrepieces on a budget

Brittany, on December 20, 2020 at 10:43 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
Hey everyone! I have gone through the centrepieces I was making multiple times changing the type of bottle, the filler in the bottle, the flowers. I have gone through many times and still something doesn’t feel right about them. So, I’ve decided to completely start over! I could really use some inspiration on centrepieces or ceremony decorations so if anyone would be willing to share those or ideas they had it would be very appreciated. I want it to look beautiful and like it is more expensive than it is, as we are on a budget! Thanks

Oh I should add my fiancé is having a TON of fun collecting howlers! We found a local restaurant that fills them with beer for cheap. Smiley smile

I don’t know if anyone has commented this yet but I’m doing bud vases and howlers (mini growler). I’ll have baby’s breath and some cheap flowers/fillers. My florist said this is VERY cost effective as each vase doesn’t require a lot to look full. Here’s a photo—I’m doing vintage picture frames for table numbers and lace doilies instead of wood cookies.Centrepieces on a budget 1

We are hoping to do mostly DIY centerpieces as well. We are thinking something low, with flowers or greens. I've been loving the pictures of small bouquets in bottles or vases with candles on top of a cut of wood. These are the pinterest inspo pictures I have saved. A friend has these cuts from her wedding and offered to let us borrow them for ours and you can buy flowers wholesale to save some money if you want a simple centerpiece.

Thank you! We loved our venue so much and were able to DIY and save in other areas to afford it.

We kept it super simple and used glass hurricane vases (yardsale and Dollarama) and pillar candles (ikea). We also made table runners from pages of books which tied into our book wedding arch.

For our bigger reception next year I plan to add a little greenery to that too.

Your venue looks so nice! It's like you're outside with those large windows and the stone ledges around the room!

Edit: Oh wow I just looked up your venue haha. That's amazing! I would love to have our reception in a place like that!

The first photo is what I wanted for our reception before we had to postpone. Minimal greenery with candles in hurricane vases and some accent gold mercury glass votives. I was planning to use Italian ruscus as the greenery because it's relatively inexpensive and I like how it looks.

When we postponed we did an at home zoom dinner and the second photo is how I decorated. The shot is a bit out of focus - unfortunately we didn't get a great in focus shot of the table. This would be more expensive than the original plan because I used eucalyptus and made the garland much more full but since it was just one garland it was manageable. You could always do the head table a bit more extravagant and then do the guest tables more minimal.

Our centerpiece rented shown was simple and water coloured beads, LED immersable lights and white floral ball. Each table had a different colour.

We kept things really simple with birch votives spaced out down the table and Italian ruscus garlands. The glass votives, tea lights and runners cost us $40 and the birch was sourced naturally.

I apologize, I actually think I got the roses from Costco! But the hydrangeas I cut from my moms garden. You could probably buy those in bulk!

I got a professional to do my wedding flowers, however for my bridal shower I did them myself! I cut hydrangeas from my moms garden and I bought cheap roses from the grocery store. I tossed a few pieces of baby’s breath in it. This arrangement worked out perfectly for my bridal shower!
