Cash Registry: Honeymoon, House Downpayment, or Wedding Fund?

We went with the approach of not putting anything on our invitations regarding gifts. We literally had just one couple give us an actual gift (they were from Denmark), and the rest were envelopes with money.

You need to know your crowd for sure. You could put a little something saying “cash gifts welcomed” or add a link to an online registry if you choose to do one.

Ours would be for our honeymoon - but I agree, no need to label it. I've heard from friends who went to a wedding social and then the couple used the money to buy a house.... not what it was labeled for or supposed to be for so many people were a little ticked off as their wedding was super cheap and they felt cheated...

We're doing the same - we didn't name ours since we aren't sure what the money will go towards. Most of it will probably be for the honeymoon, but we want to save some for a house down-payment.

The money given by our guests went to pay the credit card since it build up so much from payments to vendors and venue for the wedding.

We aren’t labelling ours! Fingers crossed we’ll have a home by the time we tie the knot and our honeymoon will be paid for before the wedding as well.

so any cash we receive will go towards whatever we need at the time!
