Carat, cut, clarity, or color? Which "C" mattered most to you? 💎

Lynnie, on August 21, 2018 at 18:19 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 12

There's a whole lot more that goes into your diamond decision than just the shape! Color, cut, clarity, and carats all play a big part in determining your final jewelry bill. 💰

So - how much did size matter to you?? Were there certain color or quality ranges you wanted to stay within? Did your fiancé(e) tackle all of these ring decisions on their own?

Which "C" mattered most to you? 💎

When my fiance asked me what kind of ring I wanted all I told him was that I didn't want any coloured stones and that I wanted white gold. The pictures I showed him of rings I really liked all had different cuts in them and different styles so he found the one that he liked best out of those.

The only thing that mattered most to my husband was the colour as our bands were simple.

I picked out a cut/style I liked and told FH about it. Clarity and color mattered most to him. When they laid out choices for the center diamond there was one that just sparkled above and beyond and he was sold. Carat didn’t matter as much to me, which is the complete opposite of my beliefs before I started looking at rings.

Cut was most important. not as is in how many facets or anything. but in that I wanted a unique cut center stone. would have loved trillion (triangle cut) but they are so difficult to find. so it came down to something different. I have an emerald cut center diamond.

then cost. I didn't want FH spending too much money. and he ended up getting a fantastic deal on it, especially considering the amount of diamonds in it.

Cut mattered most to me! I just absolutely love the heart shape cut and it's kind of hard to find in jewellery stores so I'm glad I got to design my own ring Smiley laugh

Of course after cut it would be cost, colour, clarity, carat.

For me it was cut, carat, clarity then colour. We got an excellent cut brilliant round , VS1, .9carat Centre diamond with colour j. We originally wanted a full carat, but she showed us the two side by side and you really couldn’t see much of a difference. She sold us on the J colour because the diamond looked incredible (still does) but I regret it! My ring is white gold and all the surrounding diamonds are H colour. Only under certain conditions does the centre diamond look a little yellowish, but it really bothers me. He paid a good amount for the ring, and had we known, he would have gotten a better colour diamond for the middle. I absolutely love my ring and it’s beautiful! I’m not complaining haha. For the most part you would never be able to tell

If I recall correctly, for me it was:

    Cut/Colour

    Clarity

    Carat

FH decided to propose to me with a placeholder ring, therefore I got to pick all the aspects of my engagement ring myself, so I spent a while figuring out what was most important to me Smiley smile In the end, I'm glad I did since my cut (very good) and colour (D) really stand out on my ring Smiley smile

How about creativity? He chose something that he knew I wanted but also put himself into it too! Honestly it could have been an Onion Ring and I would have said yes haha!

Clarity, cut, colour, carat. In that order.
I believe if I remember correctly, it is a brilliant (round) H, SI1, and about 0.35 carats centre stone with a double halo. It has an "excellent" diamond rating.
He went with an artisan diamond, so he was able to get a nicer diamond for a lower price point. I absolutely love it.
All I wanted was for it to sparkle. Not break the bank.

For me it was in this order, cut, colour, clarity, carat. I wanted it to shine beautifully so the cut was important, color comes second because I can tell if it’s even slightly yellow so mine ended up being E colour. Clarity, as long as I can’t see with naked eye it’s fine and carat, I wanted the centre stone to be 0.5 or more and it ended up being more which was perfect 😊💗
