Buying Wedding Favors not knowing the numbers of guests or Wait?

Hank, I have to say you always have some of the best advice- have you ever considered being a wedding planner/consultant?

The favours you want to get will be in stock or discontinued at the store to know better. I did end up buying the favours since they were going to be discontinued at a great discount price too. The rest of what was not given out, was for christmas gifts to those who didn't get one. Its an idea to keep in mind.

So far it shows a pretty fast delivery so i will wait a bit closer to the spring

Yea what i am actually doing is checking the site on amazon and a couple vendors say they get them in often. so i will sit back a bit longer wait for after i send out my invites in May

Do you have an approximation on how many guests will be attending your wedding? I would say if you indeed have an total that you would for sure want, then I would say that it would be great to purchase them to make sure that they are not sold out or price change. Or you can contact the seller for your information to assist with easing your mind.

Does the supplier say what their timelines are for delivery to your area? Is it fast enough that you can order after getting your RSVPs?

Hey Marsha. I would suggest waiting until you have a little bit more of a solidified guest list/numbers. Then once you think you have the list solidified I would add an additional number to the final just to be sure you have enough. I ordered custom designed mason jar glasses as our party favors and I ordered an extra 10 just encase any broke.

I would wait if you can, especially if your favours are edibles. Half a year is a long time to be storing things like chocolates and cookies as they can go stale. And things like home made wine take up so much space at home. A friend made their own wine for the wedding and having 150 bottles taking up space in their condo for over a year was a nightmare.

That being said, if you come across major discounts on non-edible trinkets during sales periods, like Valentine's Day, it may be worth taking the plunge if buying more at a discount will still cost less than what paying regular price on what you actually need.
