Buttercream or fondant?

Lynnie, on June 11, 2018 at 13:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 19

What kind of icing will you have for your wedding cake? Smiley cake

Are you team buttercream for the taste, or fondant for the design potential??

Buttercream all the way for its softness and freezing time.

I don't really like icing but I think I would have to say buttercream.

Team buttercream for sure! Not even the decorations will be fondant. Getting real flowers for it instead of fondant !

Fondant! But actually for the taste and the design option. I grew up in England and our cakes aren’t made with buttercream. I find buttercream sickly and it makes the back of my throat itchy.

Buttercream for the win! Taste over looks any day. It will only be a small single tier for the cutting ceremony and we were thinking the guests can have pie and dainties instead.

We are doing a small cake for cutting purposes only, so we decided on fondant just because of the simple look we are after. Smiley smile

Buttercream! Fondant is just too sugary... and when it starts drying out? Yuck.

We are only having a baby 2 tier 4"/6" cake for saving/cutting, but it will be white buttercream with some greenery accents.

Definitely buttercream on the cake part. not against fondant decorations. but we are doing a small cake, just for cutting purposes as the hall/meal includes dessert.
