Buffet or Plated?

Lynnie, on October 1, 2018 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 20

Time for the main event - the food! Have you decided on buffet or plated dinner service? 🍽️

Did you decide based on cost, menu and food options, or how the service fits in with the overall style and vibe of your reception??

Buffet?

Next Question: Sweetheart or Head Table?

Or start from the beginning: Are you reception ready?

Our dinner will be plated so that I ensure each guest receives the same quality and quantity as one another. Also I dislike the idea of making your guests get up to get their own food. Much rather prefer to offer our guests a plated dinner brought to them directly.

Haven't decided yet. We're doing a DW at an all-inclusive resort, so on the one hand it might be nice to have a plated dinner since everyone will be eating mostly from a buffet all week, but on the other hand I fucking love buffets and always have hahaha

It will really depend on what the resort we choose is offering. If the quality offered via plate service is a step above the buffet option and not ridiculously more expensive, I think we will do that.

Plated. Portions and meal were chosen according to light start to finish. Late night buffet was great for its choices of sandwiches, veggies and fruits.

Buffet. I like that there are so many options, and people can eat as much, or as little, as they want.

Buffet 100%!! This is something I always wanted (I have never been to a wedding where the plated dinner really thrilled me...) My FH and I are from mixed backgrounds too so the buffet is an easier way to have a larger mix of food!

Buffet! We prefer buffet style over played, allows the guest to get what they actually will eat. Sometimes guests don't like the veggie side and don't eat it so might as well let them get exact what they want.

We are having buffet! Better on money, and people can get exactly what they want. And it's easier than asking what meal they want.

We are doing family style. part of this is because its REALLY common in our city.

I love family style. because you get lots of food options, can eat more or less. and don't have to get up. I personally hate weddings that are buffet. so buffet was always a no go.

Buffet. This option was within our budget and offers a variety of choices for vegetarian and people who like meat.

We're probably going to go with plated, but I go back and forth and start thinking a buffet would be good too (less food wastage, guests can choose portions). However, I'm cursed with being the last/forgotten table at the buffet EVERY TIME so we'll probably keep it plated so no one has to deal with that!

Plated. I do not want to risk getting food on my dress while making my way through a buffet

We will be having buffet. We decided on this as it represents who we are. We will be having Danny's Pulled Pork and they don't serve (exception being for the bride and groom of course).
