Budget for decor for outdoor wedding

Carla, on February 4, 2019 at 14:30 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5

Hey everyone!!

I have a very broad question so bare with me. I'm just working out a budget for my wedding and really have no idea how much decorating a wedding costs. Everything else I can get a feel for(dj, photographer, food etc).

The wedding is at night and outside, hoping to use lights, candles and minimal flowers. No formal dinner so no huge centerpieces required. Wedding of about 140.

Any ideas of a number I should give myself for budgeting would be amazing. I'm thinking $1500.00?

Thanks!

It seems a good amount to work with your budget for a medium guest list. Candles is a good idea and easy to use as centerpieces for reception tables.

Greenery stalks and artificial flowers from the dollar store placed on simple made wood arch wrapped with material.

You can definitely DIY a lot to save money and another option is local wedding sites on facebook. You can buy a lot of used decor, etc. on facebook.

I think if you DIY some of your décor, then your budget can definitely work. It also depends on what you're looking for. Keep in mind that if you go through a company they will charge for set-up and delivery! I think we're paying about $200 just for that.

    I think it is doable!

We are also doing minimal decor but our venue is all inclusive, so we have linens, plates, cutlery with our reception costs. We aren't having any florals in our centrepieces, which cuts costs. My budget is around the $1000 mark.

I mean, that sounds fairly reasonable for decor. If you consider most of the pretty signs like "unplugged" and "pick a seat" type of signs can cost anywhere from $30 to rent to $100 then you are in the right ball park. With that being said, if the venue is pretty enough then it should be lower IMO.

I think our budget for decor is $1,000 and most of that will be for plates and cutlery because our food vendor is BBQ and only supplies paper and plastic.
