That was our original budget but the one thing we didnt want to cut was outlr guest list. So due to our large guest list we will no longer fit in that budget but my brother in law and his wife did their wedding for under $5000:About 90 guests... Selfcatered... All DIY decorations... Her mom grew flowers for the florals... Venue was their farm... Used haybales for seating.... Her mom made the bridesmaid dresses... Wedding dress was bought from a consignment store for cheap... Made their own guestbook... Only wine and beer at the bar...

We spent a bit more than that but we saved lots of money by making our centerpieces, guestbook and wedding favours.
