Bridesman

Taylor, on September 19, 2019 at 16:03 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 11
Hello all!

I will be having 4 bridesmaids and 1 bridesman in my bridal party, I'm hoping for them all to be in sage green and I'd like to find a full sage suit (instead of just a black suit with a safe green coloured tie) for my bridesman in order to differentiate him from the groomsmen.. of course it will be nearly impossible to find exactly the same colour as it will likely be a different designer, just looking for any suggestions or advice!

Thanks!

Yeah I knew it was a long shot, just thought if would be fun. But I'll likely opt for a light grey suit with sage details, as the groomsmen will be in either just vests or suspenders so he will stand apart from them regardless

I realized it would be expensive so I planned on paying for the bulk of it. But I do agree, it'll likely be easier to have him in a different coloured suit from the groomsmen - luckily they'll all be in either vests or suspenders so any full suit will stand apart from them - and opt for sage details

I had no idea David's Bridal was partnered with Moore's!! That's fantastic. I have such a terrible eye for putting together a monochromatic suit so going off of some other suggestions, I may end up opting for a light grey suit with sage bowtie/vest

I know it's totally unrealistic, just wishful thinking but that is a great idea, I'll probably opt for a light grey suit with sage accents - whether that be a vest or bowtie or what have you. Thanks!

Instead of the suit, try looking for a sage green shirt. A full suit could be difficult/expensive to find. Also maybe have him in a light grey suit (with the shirt) so he's different from the groomsmen.

A suit that is sage green would have to be custom maid if the guys are willing to pay for it themselves. Best alternative is to go sage green vest and tie to go based on your colour with a white suit so it doesn't clash with your husbands GM. It would looks nice and modern. Rental would be idle if the guys don't feel they want to keep the suit after the event. It should be asked by them to know better and I like that combination personally.

Hmmmmmm, I don't have any ideas as to where you would be able to find that - but will he be paying for the suit? Just thinking out loud here but it might be easier to find a shirt that matches rather than a whole suit that he might never wear it again.

Order a swatch and then when you check stores for his suit bring the swatch and see what they can do about matching the color.

I am in a similar situation - two bridesmaid and one bridesman!

I would check with where you got the bridemaids' dresses to see if they have any male partner stores. We got the bridesmaid dresses at David's bridal and Moore's has a partnership for them for about 90% of their colour to match.

You could get a swatch at the place you are getting the dresses at and any ask the suit rental/store about any close matches (or order a few swatches from on-line suit place to compare). You might be able to find something very close.

Where sage is a fairly light green and to keep the completely green vibe, there are a options I looked at:

    - a sage dress shirt with a darker green tie and darker green suit

    - a sage vest and tie on a white shirt with a darker green

The latter is what I am doing. The suit is navy, but the bowtie and vest are the matching Horizon Blue from David's. Keeps the completely monochromatic green vibe going and is a bit different than the black with a matching tie option.
