Bride and Groom Transportation

Hi everyone! My fiancee and I are getting married on May 21st, 2022. We have a limited budget, and I'm trying to figure out transportation. I have found a reasonably priced limo company that will bring the wedding party to the venue before the wedding, but I don't know how myself and fiancee are going to get from our venue to our hotel! It is a very short drive, any suggestions? Is it weird to take a cab in a wedding dress? (Lol) Paying for a limo to wait through the entire ceremony and reception to take us to the hotel is not in the budget. I don't think we will have any friends/family members who will be able to drive us afterwards. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

    For us we're going to hire a limo for a couple of hours to transport the groom/groomsmen who will be getting ready at one location to the ceremony and then the limo will come and pick up myself/bridesmaids at my parents house and drive us to the ceremony. That's all we'll be hiring the limo for as any more than that is also out of my budget! My fiancé and I plan to take an uber or cab at the end of the night to our hotel (wedding dress and all!) and guests will be told they can do the same!

    Hello Tasha,
    For my hubby and I, after the reception and heading towards the hotel. His friend drove us with my hubby’s car. It worked out well for us.

    Also, it would not be weird at all take a cab. If anything, better than having a limo wait for everything to be done. Save money on that.

    We are just going to drive ourselves to first look and ceremony then to venue. Our room is at the same place as venue. I have no desire to pay yhe rates for a limo wedding day or not. If we needed to get from venue to a room after we would just take a taxi

    Your budget would be over given your considering the transport for them. Would they be open to the idea of pitching in for the limo or driving themselves? The cost for a 10 hours would be more than their normal hours. Considered a classic car or something similar to the limo and the cost if its less and fitting your budget?

    Btw * my fiancé and I will also be taking the shuttle back to our Airbnb so we are not drinking and driving. We can just get a taxi anytime the next day to pick up our vechicle

    We have a tight budget and we are just driving to our venue in our own separate vehicles.
    What matters to us is people having a safe ride to the hotel.
    so we will have shuttle service from the wedding reception to the hotel. From 10pm to 12am. And it’s a 45 dollar per hour flat rate.

    Yes for sure, I'm in Toronto we have them every where lolol. Hopefully your city has them, if not I would just take a regular taxi. Good luck and congratulations.

    I should clarify, the ceremony and reception are at the same location. We are in need of the wedding party being transported to the venue for the ceremony & reception, then the bride and groom to our hotel after the reception (roughly 10 hours between the two trips)

    We will be taking a luxury limo. We are in the same boat as you, the prices are ridiculous for limos. A company told us $400 for a 10 min drive. Ah yah no thanks.

    The limo transportation service I do find personally expensive unless you do ask how many hours they are offering and what price to get you and the wedding party to the ceremony and then you and your husband to the hotel for reception. If they wait for just half hour to 45 minutes, it isn't long and the pick up doesn't have to be waited upon being done.

    The alternative is to have one of the wedding party members to drive you to the reception in one of your cars. Paying for uber wouldn't make sense since its a short distance drive as you mentioned and have to pay for the fare.

    Isn't it?! One company said $795+HST & gratuity for the drive to the venue (15km) and $400+HST & gratuity for the drive from thr venue to the hotel after the reception (12km). Definitely out of our price range for around 30 mins of driving!! Lol

    I wish I could find that! I have contacted all of the companies in my area. The only way that could be done is if I paid for 8+hours which is well over $1000... every one I've contacted won't break up the time! ☹️ such a bummer

    We were able to find a limo service that just does drop off! They'll pick myself my MOH and my parents up from our condo, drive us to my venue. Then they will leave for the day and will come and pick us up at the end of the night. You might be able to find something like this in your area. Just search around!

    We're just gunna use a cab! Or something. For our entire wedding we will not be hiring any sort of transportation. Myself and the bridesmaids will be rolling up to everything in a red minivan courtesy of my auntie 😂
