Bridal party makeup

Maya, on July 15, 2018 at 15:44 Posted in Beauty 0 12
This might be a silly question, but do all their colours need to be the same? I mean I wouldn’t have 1 red and the other purple, but if it’s shades of the same colour would that work?

Thanks for the suggestion. I think that’s what I’ll tell my girls to do and get my makeup artist to do their eyes.

In my opinion... bridal parties look best (most flattering themselves as well) with neutral make-up. With a colourful dress, and accessories, just really "glam but natural" make-up is a great go-to. Then everyone can wear what matches their skin tone, but it looks uniform.

At my cousin's wedding, everyone had slightly different skin tones, so we asked the girls to do their own face make-up, then I did everyone's eyeshadow. All from one nude/neutral palette, but on darker skin tones I could use darker creams/browns, and on the fair girls more nude/pinky... But overall they all looked glam/fresh faced and gorgeous Smiley laugh

I think you should let the bridesmaids choose their makeup. Let them do what is comfortable for them. There’s nothing worse than having your makeup down how you don’t like it and feeling uncomfortable infront of a bunch of people

Different skin tones will require different flattering shades. I dont think itwould look good to have everyone matching and I think your makeup artist will tell you the same!

I disagree, that no one will be looking at them. They will have family and friends there too and I will be looking at them as they are my best friends. Also I wasn’t saying I was going to ask them to was just wondering if it should be the same or not.

Let them do what looks good on them. Skin tones will be different and skin types so colours show up different on everyone. Your better off letting them pick and have makeup that they feel comfortable in.

I think its it’s a little overkill to ask all your bridesmaids to have identical makeup. Especially since no one is looking at them. If your really stuck on needing everyone to look the same I would instead suggest asking them to all go for a neutral soft look, or go bold with lips or eyes.

Yes... so true lol. I was just thinking more about what coulour tie my fiancé should wear so he doesn’t match the best men from the discussion about mismatching suits. Then it led me to think about makeup and what not. A lot of them said they will do their own makeup because I think they are afraid of the cost of it adding up. We will be having an engagement party sort of like a stag and doe to raise money for them tho.

I think that it should be fine with different tones. Like the others said - it will look different no matter what because of the different skin tones. As well, as sad as it is because us brides put so much effort into the details - not many guests if at all will probably notice. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad... Smiley tongue

Thanks for the advice. All my bridesmaids have different style dresses and I guess I’ll keep it close to the same colour, but one does have a darker skin tone than the others.

Thank you, I was thinking about the different skin tones. 3 our of the 4 have similar skin tones and the the fourth has a darker skin tone like my own. Good thing to think about.

I suppose it really depends on the look you want. If you want a very uniform look then having them all have the same makeup would be best, but if you're okay with each of them having different shades and what not then that also works. Like Alexandra said, if they have different skin tones then you'll want to keep that in mind too.
For my girls they all have a similar skin tone so I'm going to keep it as close to the same as possible for them, they all have different style dresses so I don't want too much to be different.

Oh definitely. Bare in mind skin tones as well, even the same shade would look different anyway.
