Boracay Wedding

Phoebe, on March 8, 2018 at 22:35 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
My wedding isn’t until February 2019, but I finished wedding planning in 3 months and all our vendors are booked. I’m having a destination wedding on boracay island in the Philippines, but the whole island might get shut down in the next few months for 60 days or more for clean up and restoration. I’m kind of freaking out, because I was planning on sending out my invitations in May or June since our resort needs the final number by August 10th. We haven’t told any of our guests, but sooner or later, they’ll all find out. Should I cancel my already-planned wedding and plan another wedding Or not and hope for the best?

Hi phoebe! How was your boracay wedding? Able to give supplier reviews? Thanks

Start looking into other areas since they can't accomodate your wedding. Send the invites with the proper venue address.

The resort is fine and abides by all regulations. It’s other establishments that have caused damage to the island and the president is called a state of calamity which means the entire island will get shut down. The resort has already reassured me that it won’t get to that point and our wedding is still a go. However, once the president intervened, there isn’t really a whole lot anyone can do. Smiley sad

I agree with what has already been said. Contact someone and if they cannot give you an in writing guarantee then I would start making a backup plan.

You're best bet is calling whoever at the resort is in charge of weddings/events. Get their professional opinion about it, they would know best what the resort is looking at for a timeline of fixing things up. I agree with Michelle that if they can't give you a guarantee then I would start looking elsewhere.
    Good luck!

Is there anyone you contact? Contact the resort/venue of your wedding location, if they cannot give you 100% guarantee then it might be best to look elsewhere, but I wouldn't cancel until you speak to the resort.
