Booking a venue

K, on January 30, 2020 at 22:52 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 7

Going to look at a few venues this weekend and just want some opinions on certain questions that you believe are crucial to ask when considering a certain vendor?

what questions did you wish you had asked when inquiring?

There are lots of questions you can ask. Best way to ask whats important to you both and based on your budget. Packages will vary as well as extras not offered. Always know about constellation fees and timing based on how much will be given back if it happens to come across.

Ask if there is a locked bridal room, what is included in your package ie food, drinks, apps, late night, bar etc. are tables and chairs included? any decor included? ask if there is any soho fees, if you can bring your own dj? do you have a day of coordinator at the venue? can you pay in installments? is there a min amount of adults you need to have? is there tv screens for you to use?h how long have they been in business? how many weddings the day of your wedding will they have? plated dinner is included or buffet? can you bring your DIY decor the day before? what time can vendors set up the day of?

If your venue is all-inclusive, ask them what exactly is provided and what things will come with an “upgrade fee”...... I definitely wished I asked this, as we incurred a few extra costs of things that were “included”. Also ask if there are any minimum guest requirements for your room- and if yes, what is the fee for coming in under that #

Question: If multiple events are hosted on the same date, how will you ensure that you do not double book?

I would also look over the contract with respect to that.

One of my big ones was ... how many events do they hold at the same time?

I have been to so many weddings where multiple events were going on and it ended up that some of the guests from other weddings were coming in and out of our event space.. just made me really want a space that was only ours for the night. But danggg..my girl Tori got you covered! hahhah

I think Tori covered just about everything!
    I'll add:
Are there photos of previous events (for inspiration and layout etc.)?Also ask about what isn't included. Everyone loves to talk about what is, sometimes asking what you don't get will lead you to more questions and better answers.
    Have fun!
