Booking a Florist

Meaghan, on May 24, 2018 at 21:32 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

We're getting married on October 5, 2019 and I was wondering how far in advance we should be researching florists and finally booking one? One of my girlfriends is getting married a month before and she says that in the town she's getting married in, florists are already turning her away as they are fully booked.

Thanks in advance!

I think it all depends on what city/town you're getting married in and if there's a lot of florists there. I've started booking several vendors early (16 months ahead of time), but I know several people who were engaged and married within a year and had no issues with vendors (for their summer weddings).

We're in September 2019. and I'm actually SHOCKED how fast vendors get booked. We're on a Friday the 13th too, so I thought we weren't in danger of losing our date anytime soon.

WRONG! Our photographer emailed us the other day asking if we're ready to book because she has another inquiry already.

Our florist can only take in 2 more dates in September 2019, so we have to book her pretty soon too. Yikes.

I would book yours as early as possible, so you don't have to settle on a florist you didn't want. They get booked up fast, depending on how popular they are.

I booked my florist in January 2018. We are getting married July 2019. I did a lot of research and new what I wanted. I also didn’t want to miss out on the florist that I really wanted so I booked early.

I second what Candace said. My fiancé and I are getting married in October 2019 too, and I've already contacted the florist that appealed to me most because her website indicated she's already booked for July 2019. But like Jessica said, it likely depends on where you live, and the popularity of your florist.

We booked ours more than a year in advance. We didn't want to risk having to settle for someone who was available instead of someone we loved just because we waited too long to book so we booked all our vendors way in advance. They say you can never book too early. It also gives the vendors plenty of time to research your venue and come up with some great ideas!

We booked ours 9 months in advance but our florist is a family friend and she knew we were going to use her so she actually reached out to us bc she said she was starting to get busy this summer so we could secure our date.

It really does depend on where you live. It never hurts to look though and speak to each florist. They can tell you if they would prefer you to come back later or if they are willing to pencil you in. 2019 is coming quickly so I would suggest having someone booked by September/October.
