Blankets for Benches

Michelle, on June 24, 2019 at 13:14 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 12

Hi Everyone!

I am looking for blankets for our ceremony that is taking place in a barn.

I need suggestions as to where I can find blankets to either buy (on a budget) or possibly rent. I was also thinking about asking guests to bring blankets, but I'm not sure if that is tacky or not.

Any bedding store that sells blankets can work or liquidations at a low price. Search kijiji site for this and if anyone or stores that have for a good price.

I belong to this buy nothing group on Facebook, there could be one in your area and you literally just ask for things you need and other members respond that they have what you are looking for. You could try that.

Me and my FH were considering making the blankets the wedding favours as we are getting married Oct. 5th and the weather could be anything at that time (Farmers Almanac has it set for warmer than the usual 12 degrees though). The cheapest blankets I can find as of right now are from Ikea: Gray Vitmossa Throw Blanket

I think asking friends and family would be great! Especially because my invitations are already sent.

I think it’s fine to ask guests to bring a blanket. Or, you could ask a few close family and friends to bring some before the ceremony and lay them out so that the benches are covered by the time people arrive.

I think you could find a cute way to ask people to bring their own blankets! I wouldn’t be offended and I don’t feel it’s tacky to ask.

I would try watching wedding swap sites- people tend to buy brand new and either people use or don't that day and resell them right after. I had bought a bunch of blankets off someone after their wedding and just washed them and was good to go again.

I think it would be fine to ask guests to bring blankets, but have you checked costco? I feel like they might have some.
