Barn weddings

Hi Kaytee,
The interior of the hall for the reception space looks just like a regular hall, it definitely requires decorating, more so than a barn would. I don't have any pictures right now, but it is big, they have seating for 185 or so. The cost of the venue was $2000 I believe, or $2500, but that is from noon on Friday to two on Sunday, and includes tables and chairs for the reception. There is also dry camping allowed on site.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out. Do you have any pictures of the inside of venue for your reception that I could see? The outside of the venue looks awesome and I can see that there are old trains and such - so cool but I just can't get a good idea of what inside looks like from any of the blogs I found.

Also, do you know if the cermony at the gazebo is included in the cost of the venue rental? I will contac the venue but wanted to ask just in case you knew.

Hi Kaytee,

I was looking for similar venues, and we ending up going with the Leduc West Antique Society. There's no barn to get married in, but there is a gorgeous gazebo in front of an old restored train station and they have beautiful grounds. You can't beat the price either! It has a very vintage antique feel and there are tons of beautiful photo spots on the 80 acres of land they have there. It's just a few miles west of Leduc, and I would highly suggest taking a look at it.

The ides on here can get like that too! I see what other's are planning, and wonder if I could include those things too...and suddenly my earthy, simple wedding is all glitter and and antiques and lace and bold colours! and then my finace talks me down again....

I am sure you can find some many beautiful ideas! Have you dove into the Pinterest world yet? When I'm home from work I can post some ideas for you! (I'm being a bad girl right now...) I love the grey and mint colour combo- very soothing and gentle for a rustic elegance wedding!

Thanks. We have a few idea. Burlap, old books, Mason jars....a cozy feeling. Grey and aqua mint type colors. Simple but rustic.

Thanks for the welcome. I am just starting to think of ideas but overall, I think we are looking for the rustic looks. Grey and mint colors I think with some wood worked into it somehow. I like burlap for alot of things....ring barrer pillow, table runners, etc. Flowers that are simple. Thinking maybe to get really old books and tie two or three together for a centre piece and then put some flowers in Mason jars on top of the books. Just a few ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Are you married to getting married?

Thanks Emilie. We are hoping to have it in the same location. Seems less stressful and more convenient. The planning is okay. We have emailed a bunch of venues and are just waiting to hear back from anyone.
