Banquet hall

Gaby, on January 9, 2022 at 22:41 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 3
Hi, we are negotiating with a banquet hall but choosing the option of bringing an outside caterer. The banquet hall charges a price per guest for use of tables and open bar which I understand. But they are also charging us a "seat" cost per vendor (65% of the cost per guests). If vendors are not drinking and the food is not coming from the hall, this seems unnecessary. Had anyone seen this before?

The cost for vendor food is a normal charge since we had to cover 4 of them as well with the main course as provided to them. The cost for the guests if your wanting to cater on your own seems pricy though see they can't cover their end of the deal for outside catering. It doesn't seem right to anyone wanting to pay more than what is being done for sure though its what we have to incur of our choice.

My venue originally had same price for each vendor I had there (photographer) but they changed it during covid to be same price as meal without alcohol.

Presumably the vendors will still have soft drinks from the bar and will be seated to eat like any other guest. If they charge for anyone to sit and eat, your vendor should be no exception. I don't know how much your venue is charging per person for the hospitality, but I would think having almost 3/4 of the cost be cut down due to their lack of access to alcohol makes sense.
