Bad customer service - bridal dress disaster!!

So I bought my beautiful dress over a year ago and decided to go with the boutiques payment option rather than all at once. Super nice rather than forking over 1500$ from the get go. Fast forward to today, I go to phone in a payment over the phone using my credit card, and the number was no in use...

So I bought my beautiful dress over a year ago and decided to go with the boutiques payment option rather than all at once. Super nice rather than forking over 1500$ from the get go.


Fast forward to today, I go to phone in a payment over the phone using my credit card, and the number was no in use anymore. RED FLAG! I go to their website and they combined locations with their sister store, no big deal. So I confirmed with the lady on the phone that my dress would be there, and she put me on hold to check... ITS NOT THERE!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I have 7 and 1/2 months left till my wedding and she says its not there... She told me it was out of her control since it might be with the other stock.. well my question is.. my dress was bought off the rack, and put into a white bag with my name on it... What if I went to go pick it up and I was told it's not there... She basically told me I have to wait till the stock department gets back to her and hopefully my dress is there, and told me if its not they would issue me a refund... Well what about the fact I don't have a dress anymore if that's the case... I'm freaking out right now and I don't know what to do if it comes down to the fact my dress is not there... OMG!!!

    Not really... the dress was discontinued and bought off the rack since it was a 2014 collection.

    Thing is my dress was off the rack discountined... the dress is from a 2014 collection. So it cannot be ordered. I'm screwed if they cant find it.

    That is no fun for sure. It sounds like they haven't moved all of the items from the other location yet, which is probably where your dress is. And *god forbid* they don't find it, you have plenty of time to get another ordered.

    That's a horrible situation but don't worry. You could either reorder it somewhere else after you get your refund! You have time! Or check other stores if they have a sample. They could always ship it you . Especially since you've already tried it and now what it looks like. There is always a solution!!!!!

    I'm hoping so too. Honestly it was my dream dress and I'm sitting here waiting to hear back if they found it and its driving my crazy. Trying to keep it together while at work and trying not to cry. I've already got other things to worry about and then this happens.. Smiley cry

    Oh no! That is awful to hear! I hope they find it soon so you can have less stress. I would keep in pretty constant contact with them for the next little while. I would also maybe start looking at forming a backup plan just in case. I'm sure they will find it. Maybe call them back and ask to speak to someone who worked at the location you went to originally; they may have a better idea what happened to their stock when they merged with the sister location.
