Bad customer service - bridal dress disaster!!

So I bought my beautiful dress over a year ago and decided to go with the boutiques payment option rather than all at once. Super nice rather than forking over 1500$ from the get go.


Fast forward to today, I go to phone in a payment over the phone using my credit card, and the number was no in use anymore. RED FLAG! I go to their website and they combined locations with their sister store, no big deal. So I confirmed with the lady on the phone that my dress would be there, and she put me on hold to check... ITS NOT THERE!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I have 7 and 1/2 months left till my wedding and she says its not there... She told me it was out of her control since it might be with the other stock.. well my question is.. my dress was bought off the rack, and put into a white bag with my name on it... What if I went to go pick it up and I was told it's not there... She basically told me I have to wait till the stock department gets back to her and hopefully my dress is there, and told me if its not they would issue me a refund... Well what about the fact I don't have a dress anymore if that's the case... I'm freaking out right now and I don't know what to do if it comes down to the fact my dress is not there... OMG!!!

    My orginal dress was tulle. so I definitely want something with tulle. I have a pic posted on here somewhere of what it looked like.

    Ashley let us know if you find something you like. I think you have time though my store ordered a dress for me and it's only taking 4 months to be delivered so we have a good timeframe for alterations, I’m getting married in 7 months too.

    It would of been there if someone else didn’t but it. But what really irks me is I was not informed at all that that happened, until I got the call today. And looking at reviews of the company the customer service has been shit all around. So I’m kinda glad they are giving me my full refund.

    That's unreal!!!! Damn Ashley. It's good they're giving u a refund, at the very least. This might be a stupid question but if the dress went back into stock can they not just go get it??

    That's awful! What horrible customer service! I would say surprised at this but we also experienced really crappy customer service during our planning process.

    Oh yeah. I'm not even bothering with trying a different dress. I'm going to a different bridal shop that will better suit my needs.

    I know it not be a perfect alternative, but have you tried checking any used wedding dress websites?

    My favorite is stillwhite.ca

    Someone might be selling theirs and sometimes stores sell sample dresses they have or just extra stock.

    Might be worth a try?

    WOW! It's a good thing that you called to make a payment sooner rather than later otherwise you would have been completely screwed! Thankfully you're getting the refund. Thats a horror story if I do say so myself!

    It will definitely be hard but you will have to try to put your original dress out of your mind. I feel for you, its the worst situation.

    I'm hoping so when I found mine last year I tried on 15 dresses before I found that one. And now I don't know how another one will compare.

    Og no!! How awful!! Atleast you got a full refund and can go somewhere else. 7.5 month is plenty of time to find and order a new one. Try not to stress too much *hugs*

    UPDATE**** the old owner was let go and basically did not put any notes in my file saying when I was making payments. They forfeited my dress back into stock and I was not notified that they did so! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! My dress is now gone and I have to find a new one all over again with 7 and 1/2 months left i'm probably going to have to buy off the rack again. Luckily the store manager is giving me a full refund. but still... absolutely ridiculous!!

    I would seriously contact them again and ask to speak to someone who worked at the old location. I would also maybe start looking for your dress in second-hand wedding dress shops in case they have one. I'm sure there is another one out there somewhere but I agree with everyone else here that you need to stay positive. The good thing is that you have a lot of time before your wedding.
    We had an issue with my husband's suit being held up at customs 3 weeks before the wedding and we had no information for 2-3 days. Everything worked out in the end but it was a rough couple of days. I say this so that you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

    I'd really not like to pay for another dress... I'm in tears hoping they just find the one I bought. I cant afford to buy another one. Smiley sad

    What if you were to look in another province and have it shipped? I know quite a few salons here that carry Sophia Tolli. Or maybe in BC or SK?

    Who was the designer of your dress? This bridal salon can't be the only one that carried that sample.
